The armies of Pwnerade

I haven't thought of a name for my brik-nation yet. But at least one person wanted to see pics of my forces, so I'm putting them here. For ridiculously oversized pics of my guys, check out my brickshelf, which I have listed as my website.

One of the hard things about making a modern or space lego army is finding a bunch of minifigs who look similar, and that aren't brightly colored and/or peachs. Luckily, I had a number of firefighters who had gray uniforms. All the equipment printed on the torso makes them look like fairly legit futuristic infantry. So I got all my helmets and video cameras together and made an infantry squad. The dynamites are explosives, of course, but so are the suitcases. They're supposed to be satchel charges. The electrobinoculars are purely for show. All of their weapons are long-range weapons. They stick the explosives in their backpacks when they're shooting, or something. An army marches on it's stomach, and their favorite food is fudge.

Image
This is my elite commando team. They're commandos because they actually wear camouflage and carry interesting equipment items. The camo in question is in fact of peach origin. Speeder bikes used to come with a Luke (as if you need another one) in the camo the Rebels wore on Endor. But it's the only camo I've got, so it'll have to do. I decided to play around with sticking things to the radio pieces. The end result is a radio with a bayonet. And a screwdriver, in case I ad-hoc some rules about fixing things. And in case of landmines, they pack a metal detector. And in case of zombies, or logs that need bucking, I equipped them with a chainsaw. Or maybe that was just for show. The rule of cool is the most important of all rules.

Image
Due to watching too much TV, my robots decided it was time to revolt! They watched the Terminator and realized that they only need one hand to fire rifles, but they also read the BrikWars rulebook and learned the pleasure of plunging knives into flesh. So they took one of each. I haven't made any other special rules for robots.

Image
Some of my robots are peachier than others. It just makes them all the more determined to exterminate their creators.

Image
My peach horde, in case I need to increase my numbers, or need some cannon fodder. There's also a dimmy, in case my soldiers need to get whipped into a homicidal frenzy. Or a more homicidal one than usual, anyways.

Great armys, (I love the commandos) but why are the yellow X-Wing pilots Peaches? You could make a good Assyrian squad out of them.

Vehicle time! My vehicles are boxy, but heavily armed.

Image
My big tank. Yeah, so the turret seems out of proportion to the hull, but the hull didn't need to house any pilots. Battlefield 1942 taught me that you only need one man to drive the tank, load the gun, and fire the gun. The gun in question is a size-4 launcher, which fires size-2 explosive shells. What kind of explosive? C-Fudge. If my opponent doesn't like it, it's a gun instead. Modeling ammunition and fitting it inside the turret is too much work. There's also a coaxially-mounted size-2 MG. There are two other MGs mounted on top of the turret in flexible mounts, and with a pilot for each of them. This allows me to engage three targets in a turn. I designed it with the infantry support role in mind. The guns are coupled with night-vision cameras, allowing the pilots to fire from within the safety of their vehicles night and day. It's size 5, with 3d10 armor and a speed of 12 inches. CPs are for bean-counters and 4chan.

Image

Image
My APC gives my infantry squad mobility and protection. I don't know how many troopers I can actually cram in there. So far I put a 7-man squad inside, except for ease I set them off to the side of the map. It's armed with 4 size-2 guns working in unison as a gatling gun. The dakka of four MGs with the precision of one! It's pretty long. 7 inches long, in fact. It's my only vehicle without the maximum amount of weapons. I was partially inspired by the M113. The sloped front and overall design are similar. The overall design being "a moving, armed, armored box you can put soldiers in." It has a speed of 12 and 2d10 armor.

My Infantry Fighting Vehicle is smaller than the APC, with a size of 5. It works in conjunction with my commando teams to get them to any location, and then help them shoot the hell out of the enemy. This is facilitated by all-terrain tires, and lots of weaponry. Twin autocannons (size-3 guns) take care of vehicles, the MG takes out infantry, and the MkII rocket blows shit up. The IFV has 2d10 armor and a speed of 12.

My peach speeder is very deadly after I gave it an armament upgrade. The twin MGs and missiles slaughter infantry and threaten vehicles. Whoever is riding shotgun gets an MG, too. Size of 5, speed of 12, and armor of 2d10.

I'm confused. Does peach mean a minifig from a theme set, or heads that are flesh-colored rather than yellow?

I do not command the Assyrian forces. Also, I want my soldiers to not be so brightly-colored.

Nice army and great presentation! Your vehicles are very brikwarsy, I really like them! Great job :)

My aircraft. I gave them speed infinity, and they just picked a spot to be in each turn. I stole the idea from the Axis&Allies miniatures game.

This is my favorite vehicle, the E-Wing fighter. I made it a few years ago from an X-Wing. The fuselage remained unchanged, but I totally redid the wings. Being of size 7, and operating in the atmosphere, I had to take off some weapons. It originally had 6 cannons, and a turret with 4 guns on top. Now it has 2 cannons and a Mk1 missile mounted underneath, rounding it out at 7. It also has 2d10 armor. It has performed well on close air support missions.

Image

Image
The Y-Wing certainly isn't an MOC, but with a size of 10, it can carry a lot of ordnance. 4 MkII missiles and 2 MkI missiles make it a serious threat to anything on the ground. It has 2d10 armor.

Image
It's the old Y-Wing that came with the old Darth Vader Tie-Fighter. I like to use minifigs in the blue mechanic's overalls as pilots.

Good army, but peaches mean flesh coloured minifigs.

Ahh. The name makes much more sense now. Someone told me it just meant theme sets.

Every bit as good as I expected it to be. I like your weapons, you use trans color pieces very well without making the weapons feel cheesy. You also picked some nice looking uniforms for your elites and sci-fi infantry. Awesome army.

Now I have to make some of these guys as an army.

...The end result is a radio with a bayonet.
The problem with radios is that they're boring, because you can't kill somebody with one. You, my friend, are a problem solver.

Radios can't kill anyone? Can you say "Forward Observer?" :o

So I realized that I forgot some of my guys, and I've been doing some experimenting with new equipment, so I decided it was time to update my thread.

Image
This is my hero. I haven't named him yet. In each of the two battle he's fought in, he's only accomplished one stupendous feat and then got killed. Interestingly enough, both of the feats involved kicking the pilot out of an enemy vehicle. I guess it's his specialty. If he proves himself by doing more than one stupendous feat in a battle, I'll bestow him with a name. Perhaps Kaptian Kickass. He flies around on a small rocket-propelled vehicle known as a rocket bike. It was created when a clumsy giant stepped on a police motorcycle and broke off the fork, but then put an orange piece on the back. I treat it as a flying steel horse.

The United Railroad Workers Union, tired of persecution by the evil Nondescript-Futuristic-Megocorporation and their mercenaries, have laid down their tools, except for the deadlier ones, and armed themselves. They carry stolen laser rifles, and have buzzsaws strapped to their toolbelts for when things get awesome. Their leader carries another radio that I awesomeified, much like the one carried by my commando team. They also protect their eyes with their welding goggles, and wear hard-hats at all times, for safety.

I also have done further experimenting with spicing up those boring old radios. I had already made two radios for my army that had knives and tools attached, and decorated them with interesting 1x2 plates. But I noticed that the radio clipped to the back of my hero's helmet didn't have any adornments whatsoever, not even a 1x2 plate with buttons and shit. I decided to take things to the extreme, and stuck a 2x2 slope brick with a radar screen printed on it to the radio. It definitely needed a bayonet like my other improved radios, so I clipped on a saber. It also is equipped with a high-powered antenna for sub-space transmissions, a hatchet, and a drill. Batman has his utility belt, my hero had a computer with tools and weapons stuck to it. It looks completely ridiculous hanging off of the back of his helmet; I've really outdone myself. But, then again, it's very much in the spirit of BrikWars. Now I need to have a battle so I can find a funny way to use it.
