That's a pretty nifty dragon you got there.
Only one problem though: Aren't dragons more present in Chinese mythology than Japanese? And aren't Samurai Japanese?
If I'm wrong, ignore me. If I'm right, it doesn't matter, this is still pretty cool.

You are right, but I am not really going for the historically accurate thing. Although Japanese do have dragons but this one is Chinese.

This looks good, though I think a Fright Knights dragon would look more in place with the samurai.
Edit: Sorry if I sounded like a dick when I posted this.

It obviously lacks a pair of wings. Also it looks a bit starved... but that should change with some battles in due time?

Chinese dragons don't have wings. and they are snake-like.

Yeah.
Like seasnakes, but in the sky.
And with huge manes.
And with fire breathing and magic powers.
And legs.
And sometimes antlers.
But anyways, it's awesome. What kind of minifig does it like to eat most?
Also what is it called?

Looks like a very good set full of useful parts, which also looks quite good on it's own. Wish they'd made fantasy stuff like this while I was buying my legos, all I really got were catapults so I was down to Starwars for parts... and now I feel I don't have a very versatile collection. Though I should manage. I'll see. Those viking sets looked interesting for creatures, as well.
Also, for some reason I find Chinese dragons are far more scary than normal ones.

Use him as a steed for an Epic samurai warrior.

That dragon is begging to have a Chinese Fireworks launcher strapped onto its back.
He fits real well with the samurai. ^_^
