Alltimate Blue Knight - Articulations for Warhead

Rather than bombard Natalya's thread with a whole bunch of photos, I have decided to place them here. The following are photos of joint articulations from the alternate joint-type I used when reconstructing Natalya's design. There are also photos of the wrist-mounted weapon systems I use [40K buffs will see a corollary to Grey Knight storm bolters].

So the elbows have near 90 degree movement, straight to bent. And thanks to Natalya's tap design, the shoulders can rotate 180 degrees no problem. The shoulder can also flap out slightly, but I didn't get a picture of that.

Image

Here is my ankle-foot variation using these and cheese slopes. Because of the design, the ankle won't bend forward any...

...but the ease with which the Blue knights can toe-point into a balanced pose should be enough to make any russian ballerina jealous.

Wrist-mounted heavy bolter

Simple construction using more taps, camera guns, and a knob in the Alltimate's forearm.

The same design concept can be expanded with technic pins and umbrella bars to make a still-wrist-mounted auto cannon.

Image

I think RoC asked if there were more than one of these dudes. Yes, boys and girls, there are 3 alltimate blue knights currently serving in the Ordo Orientium Flagrans. They were purchased as a countermeasure when the Space Knights began assaulting the Order's base on Reeo IX in early G.R. 2011. The knight in the middle is a hero, Logan Towers, head knight of blue knights and founder of the Order.

Image

Stats!!! Divergence from Natalya's concept, the Blue Knight is treated as a Size: 2 SL: 3 vehicle with a pilot. Downside of designs - less rockets and more CP cost. Upside - an extra point of Size "HP" and beast whether in CC or at Range.

All the best,
Rev.

That Looks So Cool, Funny How The Chest Looks Like It Has Tits On It

I love medievalish Scifi.

Ditto that, Zahru. The presence of these suits is the only thing that makes my sci fi faction tolerable and worth of a spot next to the real knights 8)

OOF ranks of the Blue Knights have been graced with a new piece of equipment: a plasma gun...

Plasma Gun stats can be seen in the stat-card below:

Image

From a design standpoint, the plasma gun uses a tap as its handle, so may be a little difficult for other mechanized units to use (depending on hand structure/grip). For the Alltimate, the gun sits well in both poses.

I had I go at building one of these, after I saw your re-make... didn't go quite well though, I only made the legs and arms and never conected them...

Still, those swords, you used...
Image
Is this really the same sword design! (Well close) How'd that happen...

Huh...the sword design is eerily similar...

Great minds think alike? I used cheese wedges rather than the tile clips and and don't have horns. And the hilt is a cone rather than a cylinder.

Thanks for the articulated poses, very helpful. As if I haven't got enough to do! In fact I may use these as actual Imperial KNIGHTS for my MediEvuul stuff. Gotta love these suits, but the front chesticles means they need woman pilots.

It's understandable; half of my pilots are women, so there you go.

A Creation's Structure Level is chosen by the player, according to what seems most appropriate, with a maximum Structure Level equal to the Creation's Size
I found this while browsing the 2010 rulebook today and it made me sad for all of the little hardsuits running around, at least the Alltimate versions...

Could you maybe take this picture again without the gun? I think I understand most of the parts needed, but not how the legs connect to the chest.

I know right? This is where :fudge: can come in though. Generally if something looks ossum your opponents are more likely to let you say it's more badass than the rules say it can be. I was at a hard place when I made the Black Knight because it is unclear whether it is size 1 or 2, so I opted with saying it is size 1 but structure level 3 (acting like it is a tough suit of armour) though saying it is a size 2 structure level 2 would also work, but that makes it seem less like armour and more like a vehicle. :phil:
