Since the Brickville Union didn't had a good fighter-bomber it was decided just to import the Flying wing set. However due to some color changes it was decided to build our own version. The result is a very heavy fighter-bomber, with 2 big jet engines, 4 smaller ones, 2 30mm guns, a gunner at the back and it can carry 2 medium bombs.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304774221m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>

Here an overal pic of the aircraft, note the new Brickville Union national flags on the sides of the wings.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772350m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Side view, also here you can see more flags of the Brickville union

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772356m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Back overview, here you can see the gunner station

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772362m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Jet engines, unlike the aircraft that were made before this has a blue exhaust flame. Not only does it look cool, it also gives it a very high speeds for a aircraft this heavy.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772368m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Gunner station, the guns can be lifted upward or downward to defend the aircraft incase of an persuit.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772373m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Middle section

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772379m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
It can open!

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772388m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Without the 'roof'the gunner station can open, unlike the Flying Wing set where you need to pop it off.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772394m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The middle section can transport things the size of this pallet.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772401m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772409m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The giant cockpit gives the pilot a good view

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772414m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Can also open to reveal the controls inside.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772422m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
More controls

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772435m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Also it has an ejection seat, in case the plane gets shot down.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772442m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772450m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Underside of the plane, here you can see the guns, landing gear and bombs. Note that the wings are very massiv, consisting of three layers making it one brick high. It does give the aircraft a slow speed, but it's also very hard to shoot through the armour.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772460m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Landing gear folded out, It uses some kind if ski's to land, this is mostly to maintain the stealth ability and because we couldn't find a better solution.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772468m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Landing gear folded up.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304772475m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
This is my older Zeus fighter bomber, and the Valkyrie is supposed to replace this obselete aircraft.

UPDATE VERSION 2

The second version features a working bomb bay, using the same technique as in the republic attack shuttle.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796811m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
To make the bombs fall you need to turn the black axle

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796821m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The laoding bay has been replaced with a bay for several bombs

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796852m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Underneath is the closed bay

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796867m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
And can open

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796878m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
It needs to be loaded from the top, so that can also open.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1304796902m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
This piece sorts the bombs, look at the internal pic to see it.

Here's a video showing the bombs falling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zuFG7WewUI

Very nice aircraft and a great alteration for the flying wing, you may want to consider making it a V/STOL though so you can give it landing 'feet' and let it land in small spaces.

I really like this fighter-bomber style of aircraft, and this is so well built! Nice work. It could use more bombs though, payload to the max :)

I really like the overall shape of the bomber. I think the cockpit works very well for this model and I like the wide wingspan with twin tails and the folding wing tips. Nice addition with the tail gunner too. The whole design kind of reminds me of a more futuristic crimson skies.

And makeing it VTOL would make a lot of sense.

Awesome. You took the Indiana Jones Flying Wing set and badassified it even more. A couple suggestions: switch out the round window piece on the nose for a 4X4 cone to make it sleeker, and put a ventral hatch on the cargo hold to make it a bomb bay. (Not sure if the last one is possible, but you should try). Nice work.

The whole Hobo clan believes you did a great job on this. I like the tail gunner and Hobo Jr liked the ejection seat. It was a nice touch. :D

The page is updated with the second version which has a bomb bay that sorts the bombs, so they drop one by one.

This is awesome! The overall design is great, and the ejection seat and bomb bay are excellent details.

It does remind me of RoC's designs, which is a good thing. But the pilot is clearly yellow. :guinness:
