Brickville Union Ogre MBT

The Ogre was designed to replace the older Pandora MBT’s in the Union. It’s larger, heavier, and more expensive to produce than any previous tank I’ve made. However since the resources are avliable it doesn’t matter.

Short history
On the planet called The Fourth Reich, where the Unions HQ is located, scientist found a alien tank deep within the planet’s core. After they studied the vehicle it became clear that it was an very advanced tank, that could be adopted into our own army with some changes. And after the other brick nations came up with larger tanks that could deal with Pandora’s easier than before, it became clear that a new MBT was needed. So the first prototype was equiped with the first petrusite gun (petrusite is a powerfull element found on the planet). After a demonstration the tank got the green light for mass production, and thus replacing the older tanks.
It was designed to win a 1 VS 1 tank battle with most peach skin or faker tanks. However, like any other tank, it can’t deal with many or even more powerfull units.

Side view, the armour on the side skirts have some packs of reactive armour on it (the 2X2 tiles)

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164131m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Back view, the external fuel tank was needed to make the range bigger of the tank. Also you can see the two exhausts.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164139m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Turret turned, on the back you can see the air buttplugs (the black round tiles).

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164144m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Turret with the tusk missile pods next to it. These can shoot down larger rockets and even some lighter air units.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164150m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The hatch can open so a minifig can mount the twin barrel machine gun.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164157m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The gun can elevate thanks to an external hydrolic system, this was done because the gun was too heavy to lift it without it.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164164m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The turret can be taken of

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164169m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The front hatch can open, however this is almost never done in battle, or when it got's destroyed.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164175m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Back view without the fuel tank, revealing a hatch

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164181m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The hatch can open and reveal the engine which can be taken out.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164188m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The engine, giving the tank it's power also it's easy to replace

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164199m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Upper hull taken out, revealing the interior.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164205m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
The driver and hull machine gun operator, they can view the battlefield through the binoculars before their helmets. also in the left corner is the commander, giving instructions to the rest of the crew which they recieve with their helmets.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164211m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
In this view you can see the gunner in the middle with the gunner station. Also here is the loading device (the black thing with the red eye) which gives ammo to a machine that transports it up to the turret where it is stored before it's loaded with an automatic loader and fired. With this system the tank can fire much faster than most tanks. However the ammo inside the turret can give quite a blow when breached.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164216m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Engine with fuel tanks, the black ones are oil while the light blue ones are petrusite injection tanks

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164222m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Overwatch

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164229m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Here compared to my light tank and a minifig, the size of it looks even more immense with the now looking dummitive light tank.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164234m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
Here showing the suspension system, it works quite well and is really simple. The test subject where...traitors...

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164240m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="375" alt=""></a>
One of the boogies, in total the tank has 24 roadwheels so it doesn't sink very fast in soft ground.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/30699/1306164247m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/ ... SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="474" height="356" alt=""></a>
And last the tank in action

The tank is based on this one, because I like the design so much I copied it and Brickville-ized it http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/45051

Awesome work. I love the color scheme and turret. This thing is probably big enough to count as an STD (29 studs vs. ~35 for RoC's design).

Thanks, I'm not really familiar with the meaning of an STD

When I watched the first two pictures I thought that your images were black and white(or whatever you call it), but then in third photo i saw the red lights and then I just realized that that tank is really just two different greys in this tank, and that is really awsome(not really two greys but that you made it look black and white... if you understand what i'm trying to say  ).
But really your tank is awesome!
Sorry if you can't understand my talking.

This is full of so many amazing details! And I'm glad to see the the suspension was properly tested.

Sweet tank. I like the sleek, sci-fi design of it.

although, I still like the mini tank better, I think a hoarde of them screaming at you would be much more intimidating than a huge tank.

Not sure, the Ogre's Main Cannon is quite a beast by itself
