FELC Update-ish

Took some pictures of my current forces for Warhead. A Bricklink order for them has been delayed by a month or more, so this FELCian Irregulars Core will have to do for the moment.

For those who don't know, the FELC is a small empire formerly located on the edge of Assyrian space. They betrayed the Immortals at FICO, cutting off most of their trade partners, such as the teknologicaly advanced Arkane Guard. They are currently engaged in border skirmishes with a few empires, but are holding their own. The leader of the Western Core Army is one Warrior Admiral Ross Varn, who has an immense bounty on his head after he led the betrayal at FICO.

The FELC has the teknology of Small Arms, using a Mrrson generator to effectively burn through solid objects with a long stream of particulate lazer power. They currently lack the tek to construct most large vehicles, though.

Image
The Core out in full. These represent the FELC's Point Troops, troopers trained for specific purposes that they excel at doing. A Guardtek ground defense turret is in the background.

Image
A small sampling of Guardtek that the FELC uses. The Arkane Guard and the FELC shared a beneficial weapons trade route until recently, so both factions use a lot of the other's weapons tek.

Image
Point Troops class breakdown- left to right. Drone, used to assist Medics and Mechanics. Mechanic, repairs constructions. Able to add structure levels to stuff on the fly. Heavy, unconstrained by normal weapon size restrictions, gains a bonus to skill for the larger the weapon.

Image
Warrior, immense bonuses to charging and CC. Scout, useful for avoiding nasty traps. Sniper, the antisocial deadly one.

Image
Ross Varn, Warrior Captain. The picture's a bit shoddy. He's my original sigfig.

Image
Irregulars. Normally leaders and combat-line troops in less-attention worthy worlds, Irregulars are issued with lower body power armor, giving them an edge when it comes to speed and agility.

Image
The two basic trooper designs. MkI, on the left, sports a variable-clip Mrrson lazer rifle and a detonater DMB. MkII, on the right, carries a heavy rifle instead of a sidearm. FELC troops, due to superior training, receive +1 skill to rolls for reaction fire.

That's about all I've got. I'll get a Briklink together soon enough, and you'll see a large amount of front-line troopers then. Cheers!

Those are some badass troops and weapons.

FELC always had the most badass weapons. Heck, their lack of vehicles is barely a handicap with guns that size.

I recon they prefer fast raid and fade skirmish work over going toe to toe in a meat-grinder war. Those support weapons are fuckin' amazing Ross. That Mechanic looks interesting, any chance of a few solo pics.

Dangit! I'll need to give my FELC some attention, I think I robbed them blind... well, legs, arms, heads and helmets, anything that wasn't glued down... Yup, I'll need the FELC at FICO.

I like the Drone and the dropship-thing.

Love that dropship and great work on the minifigs. There's some interesting characters there.

I checked on the FELC, nope, false alarm. They were in better shape than I had feared. I've never been happy with the weapons I had for them however. What generic everyday weapons and favoured heavy weapons do you use Ross?

this is great. I see much more coherence form the last update with the FELC, and the turret and dropship is definitely awesome. Now I really want to see that mass of front-line troops your ordering, that will be a sight to see :D

This is a great army! I like the mechanic and your sig-fig especially.

Jeez, thanks everyone! The massive weapons are the offspring of my original brikbuilts. This was my original force, so they're the most customized weapons wise.

Heh, cool. Basic sidearms are the megaphone piece with the Mrson generator tip- a black, a gray, and a trans red 1x1 stud. I've been considering customizing SW rifles for main guns, perhaps with a cylinder piece with an M-tip and a clip off the bottom? Here, pictures.

The mass-produced gun prototypes, for a mainline and a heavy.

Hey wait, where'd my CC weapons get to... aha! Remember how I said I would rather have CC than Ranged troops in a firefight? Here they are now.

The weapons in a MkI Warrior's kit-

This trooper is the fully kitted-out version of a MkI. It usually takes several seasons of campaigning and battle for the basic trooper to advance to fully-capable Warrior Core status, seen here.

As for the mechanic, I think that guy's been around since the first generation. Here's another pic.

Mechanics on the FELC front are usually more capable than their union-restricted brothers. They're trained for insertion behind lines, capable of sabotage, hijacking, and computer-systems disposal. A popular barside story tells of the legendary mechanic Ragon, jailed in a Czech-politician High Yield-ABS base after a failed mission, who managed to break out, find a welder, and single-handedly link every ship in the hanger into flying out with his hijacked freighter, completely obliterating the base in the progress. This isn't Ragon, but Jeevz here has taken over a ground anti-artillery post in an full-bore invasion, managing to destroy all the ground defenses within a five-klick range and clearing the landing pad for Assyrian troops to come through.

By landing pad we mean 'giant crater freshly blasted into the side of a mountain'.

Hell yes mate! I used to think that the FELC was too alike to the Assyrians to be noticed, but it appears that isn't much of an issue anymore. Here's to Brikwars.

Just keep in mind that the FELC pulled their troops out as the gates were breached. There was a turmoil of events back at home at Capital as the reports from FICO came in, nearly leading to the fall of the government. FELCian cruisers opened fire on the fleet as the palace itself went down, clearing a way for most of the ships that were fleeing the Immortals, at the cost of losing it's status as a trustworthy empire but saving Ross's ass in the public's eye. The fleet is now recovering, but the FELC is limiting most of it's combat actions to small elite groups, drafting and recruiting mainline troops for surface combat when the war comes to Capital.

And Ross has to deal with about three assassins a day.

I love the RT scythe. That has to be my favorite thing. The rest is really good also, though. :)
