A Darkness Rises

On a long deserted road, a small band of companions walk. The red of their garb signifies their allegiance to the lion guild of the Tetradeum Empire, and indeed, the figure at the head of their column is the head magistrate. He is arguably the most powerful wizard in the four corners of the Empire. Something was off, though... The black of their armor signified their allegiance to gods best left alone, wanderers of the darkest nights.
Image
With him are several spearmen, arranged in a foreign group of three, two disciples and one officer. This grouping came from the old legends, of the beginning of the empire.
Image
Also here is the Magistrate's personal bodyguard, an incredibly strong and powerful knight. He too wore the black of The Sinners, and his horse was decorated with a skull, markings of power carved into it.
Image
and, of course, his 'squire', a berserker picked up from the shores, on one of the crashed ships they find every once in a while. No common decency, but an incredibly strong individual, and he'll fight for as long as you let him, no matter what.
Image

The dilapidated road ends, and the party stops several yards short of the ruined wall looming before them. A chill hangs in the air, unusual this far into spring. The mage strides forward, glancing around at the scarred wall. Only magic could have done this.
Image
the earth is desperately trying to take the wall back, and barely any of it is left, but the Mage makes his way up to the top of the tower. the small breeze picks up, and a sickly mist rolls in from seemingly nowhere.
Image
As the Magistrate reaches the top of the tower, his voice is picked up from the wind, now gusting, and the words he uttered were terrible. Forgotten, pushed from the mind of the magi for a reason, the immense power sent chills down the spines of all the living who heard it. But other spines were chilled, and power crept through bones long forgotten, only hinted at in the oldest of lorebooks.
Image
The dead poured out of their shallow graves, dug for them by the soldiers of legend, after returning victorious from the final battle between the blossoming Tetradeum Empire, and the mighty Scorpion Legion.
The Wizard whispered more words, and the skeletons, eager to please, formed up into formations only this earth ever remembered. But still more skeletons poured form the ground, fed by the blackness of the wizard.
Image
they too lined up, reacquainting themselves with the living world. But the Wizard still had one last trick up his sleeve... Waving his staff one last time, piles of armor form the very best of the warriors sprung from the ground.
Image
The Wizard, drawing upon ancient scrolls and the process he had painstakingly perfected, Pulled back the spirits of those once mighty warriors.
Image
entombed within their own armor, they succumbed easily to his every thought.

Mustering the living to his side once more, the Wizard set out, with his new minions, to claim the Castle he had once called home. The assault on the Empire had begun.

Okay, so that was a little late.... Hope nobody forgot the good guys, HERE Also, for fun, I've got a few extras...
Image with some added fun and fog, and
Image
Kalenz's new hammer! Fresh from the forge, built in response to a prophecy of the coming downfall of the Lion Guild at the hands of the dead.
Image
why a hammer, you ask?
Image
Because it works better for crushing skeletons :D .

Okay, comments, suggestions, a car, anything you would like to give me, are all welcome.

The Army is nice but the way you had them come from the ground was very cool. I loved the overall effort. Well done.

And yes, I agree, the hammer is pure epic win. :D

Thanks man, I enjoyed the introduction! Really well written, and those skeletons bursting from the ground was a nice touch! Good army too.
EDIT: the skeletons would look cooler with random, grey and black equipment, such as helmets.

The undead rising from the ground, the look of your army and the nice touch of using that red torso on the mage, the effort you've gone to and the wow factored story all make this an epic intro. The Warhammer is a slice of pure gold too. :guinness:

And yet again, the evil dudes look awesome. Moar undead stride the worlds of the Brikverse! Nice job with the presentation, and like most people said, that hammer is made of win. Yes... the Win Hammer!

This is great stuff; nice work on telling a story with great photos.

Most epic war hammer I've seen!

What sets did you get the red breast plate, helmet, and mask from? And the red wizard's legs?

The mask and breastplate are from Knights kingdom I. The legs are from the fantasy Castle line.

unfortunately, I have almost no black helmets (What you see is what I have), and I have lost my evil pawns form the KK2 chess set :( (moving is a pain...)
Anyway, The medieval stuff I plan on doing a lot more plot with, so expect some more stuff...soonish.

Also, glad everyone likes the warhammer, if anyone wants to know how I made it I'll take pics, but it seems fairly straight forward.
