Hey guys,
skool is starting again tomorrow, so while surfing on MOCpages I
found a link to an interesting "building guide" on Eurobricks.
If it is well used it could be interesting to see them (all those building technics you will find there)
in a Battle.
Here is the link and an image from one of my vignettes! (to respect that OP picture rule, even though and rule #1 is to follow only the rules you think are needed. LOL!)

Not jelly, but I am very glad he saved us the trouble of having to reverse- engineer his build techniques.

Love your style! Been drooling over your MOCs since I found them a while back. Glad to see your post here explaining how you build such epic awesomeness.

Ah ok, didn't catch that. Thanks for the heads up. I'll go stalk him over on Eurobrikz. I can kinda see in his pictures that he does it by color but some more info would be nice. I'm working on a large village build myself and it's taking soooooooooooooo long because I spend 239047801398390214i3 hours looking for pieces.

Its a pretty bad idea to organize by color, that fucks up your eyes. Organize by brik shape and size instead, in a tackle box or something.

me i spend 0.25 hours on BL to find some seller that has enough pieces in all the 4 colours

The amount of briks I have won't fit into tackle box slots even broke out into categories =/ I've been using 6" and 12" wide translucent plastic drawer systems. They seem to work well.

I'm currently organizing things by type or size. Thinking about switching to color though. I find myself needing mass quantities of pieces by color in various different sizes and shapes. So I'm going from drawer to drawer a lot looking for different shapes but the same color.

Why I started organizing by type or size was more because of how briks settle in huge bins. All the tiny stuff ends up on the bottom. So I started sorting out all the tiny stuff just to get it off the bottom of the huge bins. The big bins are ok for large plates, big bricks, and other things that are easy to sort through quickly. What kills me is looking for anything smaller than a 1x3 brik (briks, plates, utensils, SNOT plates, minifig body parts) in a sea of briks. Now I even find myself spending 10 minutes just looking for a freak'n 1x6 plate in a specific color! So I started sorting out more pieces from the big bins again as I'm building up a small village... and that's when I started reconsidering my method. I was noticing I'm more interested in the color than the type. While type was important it's the color that is most important; if I found a 1x4 of the wrong color it was useless to me... I'd rather use two 1x2's of the correct color than a 1x4 of the wrong color.

Generally, I don't organize bricks. This makes it frustrating if I have a particular piece in mind I want to get out, but when I'm building mocs I have ideas, not pieces picked out. That way it's helpful to come across a bunch of different types of pieces.

I organize my bricks by color, and my girlfriend organizes hers by piece type in some massive fishing box for all the small pieces, and then two huge bags for bricks and plates respectively. Ultimately, I think the best sort job is done by a combination of the two: put all of the small pieces into compartmented chambers in various boxes (or just one big one), and then separate your bricks and plates by color and drop those into their own boxes. bricks and plates of different sizes are pretty easy to distinguish from each other and/or replace with more smaller bits in the same color. Smaller, more technical pieces are few enough that you probably know how many of each you have AND in what colors, so they're easy to find when separated.

Some day, we may combine our bricks together into one big organized collection, but that's an even bigger commitment than marriage folks.

That will obviously be the corner stone of your pre-nup
