I think it's kinda subtle, when it gets creepy is when you get the feeling people are actually glorifying them, like some edgy kids did in the past, but it's really the shit they were saying that got them banned, as far as I understand it.

Real Nazis would be either too stupid or too belligerent to wonder about whether what they're doing is fine, let alone ask, so I think you'll be good, lol.

The annoying thing is that Piltogg factions are objectively pretty cool looking. I mean, black and red uniforms, badass helmets, skull symbols, etc. Sure does suck that they were all such evil people.

AZKAMAT got banned for using swastika decals and having a race war plot. So, keep the Nazis at just black, grey, and red uniforms, no symbols (swastikas, Death's Heads, SS bolts are all big no-nos).

My guys have grey uniforms and stahlhelms, and their tactiks are based around mechanized infantry, but they are members of a representative democracy with racial equality.

and can their heads (the minifig heads) be skulls? I want to do a unit of commandos (inspired by how darn fatalistic and nihilist all quiet on the western front is.)
out of topic: is it better to have heavily armoured elites or assyrian star commando elites (deep strikers)

I think 'inspired by' and 'literally Nazis' is still different. :lol:

Nazis are the villains in mainstream games such as Wolfenstein, or films like Iron Sky and Indiana Jones, and that's accepted since it's clearly parody and they're the villains. I think in Brikwars it can work the same way, although personally I'd prefer not to see any Swastikas anywhere.

My army is mainly transported infantry. which would work better?

and yeah, swastikas are gross. they are much closer related to 1917 germans but they look similar to 1943 germans.

I think the reason that "Nazis in BrikWars" is worse/more controversial than "Nazis in Wolfenstein/Iron Sky/Whatever" is that since this is a role playing game, someone actually has to play as the Nazis, which can get rather uncomfortable. After all, everybody wants to like the faction that they are playing as, right? Nobody wants to go "oh yeah I don't personally like the faction but I'll play them for a game". Whereas with Wolfenstein you just play as the good guy and kill the Nazis, you don't get to play as the Nazis (I think? I've never played it).

even in games like the battlefield series, you can play the germans, but there's no Piltogg iconography. that is pretty accurate, as a red armband + swastika is very shootable. I do understand were Venge Is coming from, and when you can play as them the wehrmacht (german armed forces) are portrayed as more misguided, lied to conscripts protecting their families from the soviets. Like inquisition grunts in 40k

Well I agree. Some Brikwars factions are probably nearly as bad as the Nazis if you really think about it, like my own Inquistadores (religious fanatics with a superiority complex), or the Assyrians (their war on Peaches, especially) but it's easier to not take them seriously or the wrong way because they don't represent anything from the real world (they're obviously based on history as well, but more loosely and not on something as sensitive), except maybe LEGO purism among AFOLS, which again makes them more of a parody of something genuinely funny.

It's kind of a shame Battlefield went in that direction. While some were no doubt simply conscripts as described, the Wehrmacht was far from innocent or simply misguided, and this idea that they were was successfully created by a German general (who also covered up his own crimes in the process). I guess the idea works because it's hard for people to accept that such a large number of people could be so horrible (but it's true).

Someone could come around and make an obviously Timurid inspired faction, and no one would mind, though Timur The Lame was probably as bad as the Nazis too. Of course, the Nazis are (sadly) still very relevant today, Timur is not (except in Age of Empires :lol: ), so it makes sense it'd be more sensitive.

About the troops thing, I think if you have transports heavily armoured units will work better. Heavy armour in Brikwars is really bad for the minifigs' mobility, but it's also really powerful (you become almost impervious to most minifig sized weapons and even size 2 weapons have a less than 50 percent chance of killing you), and transports fix the mobility issues they have for the most part. Of course a lot is gonna depend on the battlefield and objectives...

okay. I was thinking of using the deep strikers to cause havoc in my enemy's back lines so he wouldn't melt my transport. My grunts don't really need an armored transport, but most games here seem to lack vehicles. The main thing is that it will be much easier to correct a positioning error in vehicleless battles- :byzero: WHAT IF I GIVE THE HEAVY INFANTRY THE DEEP STRIKE BACKPACKS!
