I have 6 green baseplates, 3 roads and 1 moon plate .................................. and some I can't find

all the time. I actually prefer this to baseplates.

I have enough baseplates to cover a 6'x4' surface, but lately I prefer to have battles either outside or on a custom terrain. Though I will still stick a few baseplates down for buildings.

Actually, the dead grass (that was) under my dad's broken truck may be pretty usefull. . .

Here's a pretty good one without baseplates.

It's not the baseplates that matter, it's the appearance that your battlefield is realistic and organized. Baseplates are an easy way to achieve that, but regular wargaming terrain or appropriately colored and textured floors and tables work too. My basement carpet is tan, so all my battles are in the middle of the desert (Brikspace was held in orbit around a desert planet).

i usually do desert battles because i have many tan baseplates but my second most common is the void which is black grey wooden floor

Im using it for CftC which is going on atm

small, very detailed battles are best played on baseplates

large battles should not, because then you would have to step on the baseplates to get to the middle of the field, also if a battle is on baseplates, it discourages use of furniture and other household items, thus decreaseing the hight of battles.
