Ark of the Inconvenient (updated with many photos)

This battle took place at http://www.kublacon.com/ in Burlingame, CA. It's a pretty big West Coast gaming convention. I don't know the attendance exactly, but... somewhere between 1500 - 2000 people? Probably closer to 1500, but still. That's not too shabby.
re: Bragallot's comment that the Americans fought like rabbits,
LOL, that's pretty funny. Yes, I'd agree and I was the American general. Oh dear. In fact, I was concentrating so much on the humorous carnage and blood that I didn't even realize how badly I was losing (although when my second tank blew up, I had an inkling). At one point my German opponent asked if I wanted to concede and my reaction was, "What? Why would I want to do that?" then I looked at the table and realized I had 3 soldiers left and he'd lost... ONE. Uh-Oh.
So, of course, when he asked permission to blow up the oil refinery, which I had planned all along to use as the Nuclear Option to end the game, I happily let him do so and kill all his own troops for me.
Thanks for all the kind comments, I appreciate it. Especially from Zahru II, as someday (soon, hopefully) you will see a battle report in which I rip off all your Castle ideas and copy them unashamedly. You have been warned.

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm working on it, although a little slowly. I've had some new ideas since the WW2 game for my custom faction, but mostly troop-related; I haven't branched out into vehicles yet (but I will). I have to say I feel guilty every time I build a set "as purchased" after discussing your amazing creations.
My buddy is building up an army that has a couple big lava monsters in it, so I'll need to come up with something suitable to take them down.

Thanks. No, the ground is two 2' x 4' insulation boards, but those Warhammer battlemats are pretty sweet.Killer Karetsu wrote:Awesome battle!
Btw was the "ground" of the battlefield a warhammer battlemat? It looked like it. And is that avatar(the orc) painted by you?
Yes, I did paint that Orc, thanks for asking!

Yes, I'll take a picture of the box fronts for you tomorrow. I went back to the TRU yesterday where I found them the first time; they'd been restocked so they are out there. They also make a Russian T-34 for $8.

Lego needs to make some good tanks. Best-Lock, like all clone brands, aren't as good as the real deal, but they are cheaper and they make all the military vehicles that I wish Lego did but doesn't. I just made a MOC tank and APC, I'm not happy with how they look but they'll be destructive just the same.

I gotta agree with you there. Lego's sets are waaaay to expensive... 15 euros for the ostridge race, hello? I'm urged to get me some of the PoP sets for an alternate kingdom now that I'm bringing the Falx up in my battles and I actually think some of those sets and most of those figs look great for it (they built a castle on a non-raised baseplate again and gave it a proper gate, yay!) but I don't think I'll be able to afford it, since concerts / festivals come first and they're also more expensive now...
Really impressive photography and photo-editing throughout. I also like the use of the non-Lego explosion markers. The writing was very good too. My favorite moment was when Haussler shot the fallen U.S. soldier; it gave a great example of his character and felt like a moment right out of a movie.
Edit: Oh, I almost forgot to comment on the perfect BrikWars ending. Giant explosion wiping out the whole board? Classic.
