[HH20] The B.O.R.K. on a Blue Moon

Previously

Note: Originally this was planned as a three or four faction forum battle, but as always, things happened. So to have a contest entry at least, I cut it down on two factions and played it out on a weekend.

*audio accompany suggestion*

Image
On a nameless blue moon (mostly blue because of its vegetation), the settlers are confronted with a crashed BORK-Ingot. The surviving BORK-drones now plan to assimilate or kill the "inferior lifeforms".

TURN 1

BORK
Image
The BORK drones immediately walk up to the settlers and start attacking...

Image
"That´s a fancy OT Cyborg arm you have there, but would you mind not to fidget with that in my direction?"

Image
*request denied*
~Splurch~ "YAAAARGH!"

Image
Three other drones walk silently up to the farmer.
"Hey, easy boys, are you sure we just can´t thrash things out?"

The BORK had very crappy use / attack rolls after that, so they dealt no further damage this turn.

SECURITY DRONES
Image
The security drones start their game with gunshots on different BORK. One misses, one crithits. One BORK down, but the rest is now aware of the new threat.
*new primary target set*

SETTLERS
Image
Being unarmed civilians, many settlers do what most would do, run away. While some just want to flee, others aim for the toolshed to arm themselves and then return to the battlefield. The two standing nearest to the BORK drones attack them desperately barehanded. They knock one over, but fail to do any damage.

TURN 2

BORK
Image
Having a new primary target, the red BORK drone goes straight for the security drones. With its cybernetically strenghtened arm, it easily rips off one´s head, thus deactivating it.
*deactivation complete. next target acquired.*

Image
Another drone manages to grab a fleeing civilian´s leg and make her tumble.
"Nooo, let go you damn freak!"
*syntax error. does not compute.*

Image
Other drones get in a melèe with the settlers that attacked them, and the IcePlanet2002-Drone soon joins the fun...

Image
...with an outstanding attack roll and some extra bennies. Uh-oh.

Image
~KASPLURCHROMMROMMSPLATTER~
*this one was not very robust apparently.*

SECURITY DRONES
Image
The remaining drone fires at the approaching BORK, but not enough damage is dealt.

SETTLERS
Image
Two of the settlers reach the shed and arm themselves with what they consider as useful weapons. they head back to the fray.

Image
The farmer meanwhile is not so lucky...

Image
...instead of planting a punch on some BORKs chin, he SLIPS ON THE PUDDLE OF BLOOD THAT ONCE WAS HIS NEIGHBOUR and falls backwards, being interrupted...

TURN 3

BORK
Image
One of the drones sees the opportunity to "rearrange". (A modification of 'contagious bite', turning the victim into a new BORK drone) It´s super effective.
*welcome to the kollective, member #3.015.978.482*

Image
The red drone starts to lift the remaining security drone up...

Image
...and manages to tip it over, leaving it interrupted.
*I learned that move from an old wrestling videotape.*

SETTLERS
Image
With the drone interrupted for this turn, the settlers are on it.
The two with the tools attack the red drone...

Image
...which has an unfortunate armor roll... (which is due to the fact that a BORKs armor is 1d6, +1 for every type of weapon they´ve been attacked with earlier in the game)

Image
~BZZZZRRRRTCHRK~ ...and is sent to android hell. If this exists. What I´d advocate vehemently. All Bork go to android hell.

TURN 4

BORK
Image
The latest member of the kollective rises, and updates to the latest app versions. This can take a while.

Image
IcePlanet2002-drone goes straight for the armed settlers.
*that´s not a deadly tool. THIS is a deadly tool.*

Image
"Come at me, bro!"

Image
The rest of the drones simultaneously try to "rearrange" a civilian, but their actions are too rough!
~SKRONTSCH!~
*alas! these beings break easily. what do they feed them on this moon?*
*substandard quality. abort further rearrangement efforts. elimination priorized.*

Image
*affirmative.* ~KCHIIING!~
The IcePlanet drone effortlessly decapitates the pickaxe settler with a smooth arm-swing.

Image
At this point it becomes very clear that the outcome of the battle massacre is clearly determinated.
The last remaining settler looses all faith and decides to leave.

Image
"Well, this shit is waaay above my pay grade. Flark that, I´m out!"

Image
...and so we leave the nameless moon, while the BORK drones ponder if it´s expedient to chase the last civilian, and the remaining, freshly recovered security drone is cut in half by the OT blade-arm of the IcePlanet2002-drone...

BORK DRONES WIN

So the B.O.R.K. are terrifying, good to know. Now to figure out their weakness.

Sure looks like it! Judging time!

Gameplay: 4 Plenty of action, but the whole thing seemed a little one-sided.

Photos: 5 Lots of pics focused on the action and no questions about what was happening. Battlefield was big enough to hide the table and pretty well detailed!

Violence: 5 Dang, that was a lot of entrails and red pieces and clay for dead minifigs! You cut off arms, ripped them in half, and just turned them into a pile of splat!

Writing: 4 Descriptions followed the photos pretty closely, making for a good read, but it felt like something was missing. I mean, you mentioned that BOCKSY field office and went into some detail on it, but it didn't really... DO... anything.

Appeal: 5 That said, this was otherwise a great Brikwar. Lots of action, lots of violence, a nice tabletop for the battle to happen on, clear and obvious opposition, and I love those little security drone builds! Enough of a blue theme to work for the blue moon - all the flowers and the fruits on the trees are blue because of the moon, huh?

Gameplay 3 - agree that it's one-sided
Photography 4.5 - generally good
Violence 4 - a lot of it against the civilians
Writing 4 - generally good
Overall Appeal 4 - mentions the moon

The B.O.R.K on a Blue Moon

Gameplay - 3. Mostly docked due to a lack of heroic shenaniganry.
Photography - 3.5. Seems your lighting is oddly yellow?
Violence - 4. Some nice minifigs trashing each other. Peasant harvests are always a delight.
Writing - 5. Backstory AND an epilogue?
Overall Appeal - 4. I enjoyed this battle, and it takes place on a moon.
