Image
"RUN!"

Image
"Javelins! Shields!"

Image
"How are there so many orcs here??"

Image
"Drekeen! Hard turn!"

Image
"Dead end. Trapped by orcs and Drekeen. Prepare to fight!"

Image
"They're ignoring us? That's a general! And he's going right for the orcs!"

Image
"Nothing but an orc horde this way. Form a line here as well."

Image
"There's nothing back here general! Just an open pit to be trapped in by orcs to die!"

Image
"Emperor, we have a landing zone. We just need to hold against the orcs on one side, the Leweans on the other, and clear out this squad to secure it."

"Very well, dispose of this squad while I oversee the Lewean front. Good luck General Sabino."

Image
"We hold for the Emperor!"

Image
Emperor Tiberius Auralnus himself in his ill-fitting armour is accompanied by two Dragon Priestesses (Heros), a Dragon Trainer (Hero), and his Squire flagbearer on the Lewean Front.

Objectives:
Drekeen:
Secure the center pit to allow your dragons to land after 9 turns.
Do not allow the Emperor's flag to fall.
The Emperor must survive.

Orcs: Prove you are the greatest. Kill the leaders of all enemies.
Ensure all orcs at risk of dying of old age die from enemy action.

Leweans: End the war. Kill Emperor Tiberius Auralnus.
Hold the center.

Special rules:
Orc and Lewean units constantly enter at their banner. (2 squads/turn ish).
Each army can do one heroic feat per turn per front that they "occupy" (All three for Drekeen, Leweans get their entrance and the center, orcs get the side.) Unless of course narrative reasons.
Cliffs are to steep to climb, the only hope for the Emperor against the undending tide of enemies is the inbound dragons extracting him.
Initiative order is re-rolled every round until just two factions remain, then they just alternate.
The mouintainous terrain prevents the usage of cavalry.

Turn 1

Orcs
Image
As per typical orc tactics, the old orcs at risk of missing their glorious death in battle form the vanguard. Behind them, shieldorcs make ready to advance.

Leweans

A song rises up from the Lewean forces:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIX98AShuXM

Main Front

Image
Lewean Knights and Luminarian Paladins arrive, backed up by archers.

Image
The first volley is useless.

Image
Some nice open spots, no obstructions.

Image
Suddenly, piles of resources appear! What could it mean? A lot of resources just got deducted from the Lewean balance.

Image
Nice and calm...

Image
"Let's get building!"

Scouts

Image
Archers fire, but all they do is slightly daze a swordsman instead of killing him properly.

Drekeen

Center
Image
Crossbows fire, killing an archer and the axeman.

Image
Swordsman advance, but the net result is just a plume being savagely cut down.

Image
Troops reshuffle in the center.

Lewean front:

Image
A wizard buffs a crossbow before firing. Buffing is promptly forgotten for the rest of the battle after this and wizard staves are just guns.

Image
One Paladin knows to block the eyeslit with his shield. A knight does the opposite as he tries to get a good look at the weird fleshy thing that materializes here instead of clear rod pieces that were remembered later in the battle.

Orc front:

Image
Troops are to far apart to even hurl insults at each other.

Turn 1 k/d ratio:
Drekeen: 3/0
Lewean: 0/3
Orcs: 0/0

Turn 2

Leweans

Main front:

Image
Troops advance as more troops arrive. Archers fire a volley over the heads of the front line.

Image
The wizards and crossbowmen were not expecting this at all, two of each die.

Scouts:

Image
The rifledwarf, archers and swordmage kill three.

Image
The only kill in the melee is the ranger captain, who tries to heroically cleave but just breaks his spear.

Image
Ranger captain grabs an axe.

Orcs

Image
Orcs advance, one old orc falls to the only crossbowman who remembered to load then fire. Even worse, a wizard's staff blows up but at least doesn't kill him.

Image
More orcs arrive, including a pack of attack raptors (Retroactively this will be made a full squad of choppers because next turn I realise rolling for numbers was awful.)

Drekeen

Lewean front:

Image
Crossbows are useless, but it provides good cover for the prisonminds to drop their shields and charge the Paladins! 5 are cut down.

Image
Knights move to close the newly opened gap.

Center

Image
General Sabino decides to use one of his tricks, and uses his dragonblade is wreathed in flames which shoot out in a line.

Image
Three fall!

Image
Crossbows fire another volley at the small group of defenders, and it gets three smaller again.

Image
Dragonborn advance, preparing to attack as swordsmen fall.

Orc front:

Image
Crossbows pick off two more of the old orcs as the staffless wizard storms off to grab another weapon. The orcs seem genuinely happy to be taking losses.

Image
The wizard with a staff picks off another orc.

Turn 3

Leweans

Center

Image
Maceman and a knight gang up on a swordsman

Image
Ranger captain practices their golf swing with fire and an axe.

Image
And is promptly reminded that axes are in fact, flammable.

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlB9q3E-RCI

Main front:

Image
The remaining Paladin leads the knights in a vengeance attack against the prisonminds.

Image
Killing three prisonminds and stunning two (Prevented counters).

Image
Archers reposition behind the nice clanky cover and fire at the enemy clankies, but it does nothing. These archers are terrible, why do we even have them?

Image
More troops arrive, including a drunken fencing master (hero)!

Image
glug glug glug "What's a spawn cooldown?"

Image
"CROWDSURF ME BOYS!"

Image
Spin, spin spin like a drunken death drill! Triple-Dee!

Image
Incoming!

Image
And he sticks the landing, even remember to drink from the bottle and not the swords with a new adornment on the end!

Image
It's so cool, the guy he killed explodes, which of course he doesn't look at. The explosion forces other phalanxes a bit closer together, but we all know platemail is explosion proof for certain sizes of explosions.

Image
"Build! Build! BUILD!! Wait, build time with two builder... It's to long! We need five builders per construction to have a chance of being done in time!"

Image
With that, some caution lights appear.

Image
No, not caution lights. A portal from another dimension! Despite being on a planet where portals are notoriously unreliable!

Image
"We heard something needed building?"
The Menders of Creation have arrived! The portal remains active.
MoC objective: Build whatever these things are and then enjoy your lunch!

Image
"Build! Build! BUILD!!"

Drekeen

Center

Image
A swordsman and General Sabino swing at a knight's head from opposite directions.

Image
Before the knight even notices, their head has been scissored off!

Image
Small repositioning.

Image
"That was awful. Wait, why do I see a dark cloud coming towards me from the direction of the reloading crossbowmen? This feels like the ending scene of that one awesome movie... I think it was like, numbers or something?"

Image
THUNK THUNK THUNK!
The Ranger Captain has died!

Image
Axemen start putting out the fire in the most effective way known to man: Peeing on it.

Image
The explodey wizard makes it to an ad-hoc armoury also known as dead allies.

Orc front:

Image
Another volley from the crossbows kills the last old orcs.
ORC OBJECTIVE ACHIEVED! NO OLD ORCS WILL KNOW THE SHAME OF SURVIVING THIS BATTLE!

Lewean front:

Image
The drunken fencer realises he has jumped into being surrounded and cut off from his redshirts.

Image
Unable to accept being bested in combat by anone else, he impales himself while defiantly downing the rest of his whatever alcohol that was. Most importantly, this prevents the Drekeen from gaining a kill.

Image
See this? This is the crossbowmen not doing anything useful.

Image
The prisonmind melee kills one per side.

Orcs

Image
Retcon! Rolling for reinforcements was a bad idea, just do squads!

Image
Reptors pounce on the phalanxes, killing 3 and losing 2, with one more wounded.

Image
Jealous of the killing, Spike The Fist (Hero) joins the battle! He likes spikes!

Turn 4
Orcs (Spoiler: This battle is nowhere near done, but they won't win initiative again. So goes being green.)

Image
Raptors continue the rampage on the heavy phalanxes. But archers are to quick or something. Still, not looking good at this line.

Image
More troops to the front!

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4pIj2EsK9Q

Lewean

Center

Image
The maceman realises he is alone and tries to YOLO General Sabino. Instead, he YOLOs into a sword impalement.

Lewean Front

Image
The Paladin finishes leading the knights to avenge the other Paladins.

Image
They form a line.

Image
On their flank, spearmen charge!

Image
This looks an awful lot like a suicide charge...

Image
Wait, what?

Image
Spoiler

Image
The dice are with them! Three heavy phalanxes go down without any losses! Emperor Tiberius Auralnus bravely starts to worry.

Image
Troops continue advancing and arriving.

Image
"Build! Build! BUILD!!" more Menders of Creation arrive.

Image
The portal goes out, and both dwarven and MoC builders get to work.

Image
They smack the resource piles with hammers a bunch, and it suddenly changes some!

Drekeen

Image
"Excellent. We have taken this area. You are clear to prepare for pickup my Emperor. I shall go oversee the orc front."
Objective achieved: Secure the center landing zone.

Image
Troops reshuffle forming a final fallback position.

Image
Explodey wizard because swordwizard.

Image
Swordmages prepare to ambush anyone coming around the corner after breaching the second line of the Lewean front.

Image
"Emperor, you are clear to move to the extraction point. I will lead the defense here."
"Good. I wish you the best of luck in this conflict."

Turn 5

Leweans

Image
Knights vs. Knights! So much bouncing off armour uselessly! Net effect: Leweans lose one.

Image
Spearmen and knights clash, one falls on each side.

Image
Halberdiers kill a knight.

Image
Archers advance and fire their arrows into the shields of the macemen.

Image
Troops advance and arrive, including...

Image
The Leader of the Luminarian Church himself, Lorenzo!

(Builders continue building, missed the picture.)

Drekeen

Orc front
Image
Realising he has no weapons, and raptor tails temptingly in front of him, Sir Wildswing the Strong does the only logical thing.

Image
Dual-wield live raptors.

Image
All three raptors are killed in the impact.

Image
He grabs the fallen raptor's wizard staff and falls back. We never even got to know wizard raptor, and now he's gone...

Image
Remaining crossbowmen fall back as well, the first line of defence against the orcs has fallen.

Image
General Sabino covers the corner.

Lewean front

Image
Knights fail to do anything, not even die! Cowards.

Image
Crossbows pick off a halberdier.

Image
Dragon priestess decides to do some resurrecting.

Image
Critical success! A wizard returns from the great beyond!

Image
The other troops make like /r/wallstreetbets with Gamestop stocks and HOLD!

Orcs

Image
Choppy boards cut down the retreating crossbowmen.

Image
More troop advancement. The ground begins to shake a single pebble falls down the cliff...

Image
It's Chief Mountain Hurler with a siegeosaurus! How did they even get that thing here??

Turn 6

Leweans

Image
Spearmen take out a knight's shield while losing one of their own.

Image
Halberdiers take down the knight who still has a shield.

Image
Knights have taken the left flank of fortress that one rock!

Image
Archers fire another volley! Mostly into shields, but one maceman decides to try showing off sweet ninja moves by catching the arrow rigth before it hits him in the face. He does catch the arrow... after it hits him the face that is.

Image
Going to need braces after that one...

Image
Clerics arrive to begin tending the wounded as troops continue to advance.

Image
Why does hitting whatever they're building in one spot with a hammer make it periodically change?

Orcs

Image
Spike the Fist gets jealous of the spikes in front of him also known as a spearwall.

Image
"YEW CALL DOZE SPEYEKZ?? I WILL SHOW YOU THE BIGGESTEREST SPIKE STORM EVER!!"

Image
He does in fact, unleash the spikes. When his spike fists turn into hedgehogs. They're spiky after all.
"DIS BE AS BAD AS WHEN I FORGOT I HAD SPIKES AND MY EYE ITCHED!"

Image
Choppy boards advance on the spear wall. After all the parries are calculated, two spearmen go down.

Image
Regular choppers go after the General. He knocks a head off in response.

Image
Troops continue advancing.

Image
Including ANOTHER siegeosaurus. How many did they manage to sneak up here??

Drekeen

Image
"How much longer until the dragons get here? Not that I'm scared of course, I'm just curious."
"Soon (tm)."

Lewean front

Image
A wizard's staff explodes when he tries to zap a halberdier.

Image
He grabs the other wizard staff nearby and retreats as crossbowmen continue to be worthless and the priestess raises a crossbowman.

Orc front

Image
"Always have at least four more tricks up your sleeve..." mutters the General as he cleanly decapitates all five choppers.

Image
The bodies all fall in unison.

Image
The general turns and salutes his men. What is he doing?

Image
Where is he going?? He just walked off into the entire horde alone!
General Markus Sabino has left the battle.

Image
Disheartened by their abandonment by their general, spearmen are only able to kill one chopboard before all succumbing to counters.

Image
Crossbowmen point blank shoot for a couple kills and retreat again.

Image
Sir Wildswing and a normal wizard take out another orc before retreating.

Image
More troop shuffling as the prisonminds prepare to charge, with the swordmages hemming in any troops that get past them.

Turn 7 (Note: Photos for this turn might be slightly off, they almost disappeared.)

Drekeen

Lewean Front

Image
Dragon priestess raises a knight, but accidentally stabs him in the shield arm. Then the priestess falls back.

Image
Crossbowmen pick off a halberdier.

Image
Hey look, it's nothing happening!

Image
And more nothing!

Orc front

Image
Ranged units keep retreating.

Image
Melee units reshuffle.

Image
Sir Wildswing learns about armour spell failure chances.

Leweans

Image
Even more nothing happening!

Image
Charge! A knight goes down.

Image
And even more charging! One lost per side.

Image
Lorenzo decides to exorcise the heresy of a false faith raising the dead.

Image
Instead, he just raises more drekeen, including one guy with a fancy piercing.

Image
A dozen archers line up, and fire a volley.

Image
Killing SIX in one shot!

Image
More troops advance, doesn't look like much room for reinforcements though.. wait, where are the reinforcements?

Image
Some raiders show up on the high ground, they will be able to drop down somewhere.

Image
And ninjas on the other side who can also drop down! Breaking all the rules!

Image
CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE!
CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE!

Image
Crazy inventor dwarf shows up to inspect the work.

Orcs

Image
Spikefist decides hedgehogs make a terrible weapon, drops them, and grabs the spikiest thing he can find: A couple spears. Dual-wield spear charge!

Image
BUT HEDGEHOGS!! The fool has made a powerful enemy this day!

Image
Flying through the air...

Image
Thud.

Image
Swordmages take advantage of this.

Image
The dice have spoken. And no, the redshirt dice wasn't even close.

Image
Did you know orcs have a lot of blood?

Image
Choppy boards advance.

Image
And get charged down by the waiting prisonminds.

Image
Troops advance, in a bit of a rush for some reason.

Image
One trips.

Image
He rolls over and looks up...

Image
CRUNCH

Image
To avoid this squishy fate, some hammer orcs grab life by the horns.

Reinforcements! Spears keep the siegeosauruses going in the correct direction.

Turn 8

Drekeen

Lewean front

Image
Insulted by the heresy declaration, the Priestess decides to handle this diference of theological opinions in the only reasonable way: A debate.

Image
Lorenzo agrees. They both get into their debating platforms, and Lorenzo begins: "You as a dragon worshipper worship a collection of individually comparatively small and weak gods, each one of whom can be killed with a decent output of force from mortals. The moons on the other hand would take significant force to even affect, much less destroy. How do you respond?"

Image
"Holy smite."
Lorenzo has died!

Image
In order to re-arm himself, the heretically raised crossbowman does a sweet dive roll, but forgets to check if the thing is loaded before firing. Still, points for style.

Image
The raised maceman grabs a shield.

Image
Swordsmen cut down two spearmen.

Image
KNIGHT HEAD GO BONK!

Image
The raised knight brings down a spearman.

Orc front

Image
Prisonminds continue their rampage

Image
Only one javelorc remains after this!

Image
Swordmages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io4fxdBEApc

Image
Sir Wildswing decides to combine martial and magical weaponry into a spearstaff.

Image
You know, at this point I'm not even surprised. These staves seem to be made of pure explodium, but the variety that never kills anyone.

Leweans

Image
Spearman gang up on the knight, but his armour holds.

Image
"Choke down in close quarters..."

Image
"And send the body tumbling down!"
The Halberdier tries to take out the last swordsman here as well, but there's just to many bodies to reach.

Image
Despite an amazing armour roll, the extra +1s from half the archers volleying the priestess is just to much and the redshirt fails.
Dragon Priestess has died!

Image
The other half of the archers volley the would-be redshirts making them more like DEADSHIRTS amirite??

Image
Down goes a maceman!

Image
Look at this photo of an empty plateau! No idea why it's here.

Image
Advancing on the high ground, preparing an AMBUSH!

Image
More troops arrive, including the leader of the Luminarian Paladin order, Sir Expendable!

Image
The Builders all gaze upon their creations.

Image
Hi-five menders!

Image
This calls for sandwiches and an appropriate length lunchbreak!

Image
"I got bologne and mustard!"
"I got flaked ham mixed with mayo and mustard!"
"I got a BLT with mustard!"
"I got a croissant with mustard!"

Image
The Menders of Creation portal reactivates, and they all leave while apparently really, really liking mustard on all things bread.

MENDERS OF CREATION VICTORY!!

Image
"Yes, this one passes inspection. Good work."

Orcs

Image
Heavy spear orcs hold an imprtomptu Stabby's Day parade. This emboldens the last javelorc to be useless.

Image
More orcs advancing, not wanting to be pancaked by their own dinos.

Image
"Hey that looks way better than walking! Everyone jump on! This will surely be a tactic we utilize going forward and won't be completely forgotten about after this battle!" It's not a plot hole if it's called out in advance!

Image
Chief Mountain Hurler jumps off when he sees a nice mountain.

Image
He pockets it for later.

Image
Troop advancement.

Image
Reinforcements! Druids, javelorcs, and a MYSTERIOUS SHAMAN on the high ground. They are totally going to do something amazing, eventually.

Turn 9

Leweans

Image
The final three Drekeen defenders at their first line go down all at once.

Image
"AND STAY DEAD THIS TIME!"

Image
Lewean forces advance, Clerics begin treating the dead/wounded (Who can REALY tell the difference anyways?)

Image
The assembled forces.

Image
I think I just saw some movement here?

Image
"We'll drop down on their second line as soon as our troops below engage it in the front. Take them from behind!"

Image
"Yes, this also passes inspection. We are clear for launch. Standby..."

Drekeen

Lewean front: All quiet. Mostly because they're dead.

Orc front

Image
Sir Wildswing tries to hold back the advancing horde on his own.

Image
They simply knock him over and get to advance for free.

Image
All part of the plan when all the magical stabby guys do the stabbing thing, albeit with comically bad attack rolls. At least the SN dice mean they get a couple kills.

Image
Prisonminds cut down two dual-wielders while both being cut down themselves.

Orcs

Image
Heavies drop their shields and start stabbing.

Image
Specifically, three stabbings.

Image
Well this doesn't look good...

Image
Siegeosaurus attack battery (Read: Orcs throwing pointy stuff from it's back) takes out the rest of the swordmages.

Image
More passage advancing. There's going to be more reinforcements soon...

Image
What's this? GENERAL SABINO IS ALIVE?

Image
"I'll show you mountain hurling..."

Image
He pulls a chunk of mountain out to somehow block the passage, trapping himself on the other side with entire orc horde! They can't reinforce anymore!

Image
As the General walks off the battlefield to face down the entire horde, he cuts down the banner carrier just to make a point.

Image
"Emperor, they're here."

Interlude

Image
The dragons have arrived!

Image
3 gold dragons with riders, 5 drakes with riders, 3 armoured green dragons...

Image
Two red dragons, one black dragon, 5 black drakes. Easily enough to turn the tide of the battle and extract the Emperor! Such a force of dragons has never been assembled! DREKEEN VICTORY IS ASSURED!

Image
Crazy Inventory Dwarf: "The time has come... Execute Order Sixty... Six."

Image
"Ye culd haf just said tae launch..."

Image
"Incoming, two projectiles. Take evasive action.

Image
"They're going to miss us!"

"Goodbye 'emperor'. Your empire is no more after today. Just to let you know, the attack on the Lewean rearguard was completely routed by Roland and he's on his way here now. It's over for you. The Drekeen are finished, and that is the fate they deserve."
The ninjas somehow stay hidden, despite thoroughly soiling their britches.

Image
Scoundrels! During the cinematic, Lewean forces redeployed!

Image
The way out for the Drekeen.

Image
It doesn't look that bad...

Image
That's a lot of archers now that I think of it.

Image
This doesn't look that hopeless does it?

Image
"Right, there's not that many of us left. It seems all of our plans have failed. As General Sabino said, best to always have at least one more trick up your sleeve. Well, uumm.. I guess, the only one we have left is to take as many of them with us as possible! THE DREKEEN WILL NEVER FALL!"
The Drekeen are now Fighting a losing battle: BLAZE OF GLORY. Take as many of them down with you as possible!

Image
The Emperor bravely returns to defending his corner.

Turn 10

Lewean

Image
"FORWARD!"

Image
The advance of the spear wall is a bit of a meat grinder...

Image
Sir Expendable steps forward.
"It is quite simple to deal with the orcs, dispose of their leader and the rest will flee. YO MR. SMELLYFACE ORC CHIEF! I CHALLENGE YOU!"

Image
"I ACCEPT! GET OVER HERE YOU LILY-LIVERED HAMSTER SQUIRREL!"

Image
"LET'S DO THIS! YOUR MOTHER WAS A HAMSTER!"

Image
"I ALREADY USED THE SMALL RODENT INSULTS!"

Image
"RAUGH!"

Image
Sweet hangtime...

Image
Oh. Right. The pocket mountain.

Image
Sir Expendable?

Image
Oh. Yeah. He dead. Very dead. Chief Mountainhurler laughs.
"PATHETIC HUMANS! CAN'T EVEN TAKE A HIT FROM ONE MOUNTAIN TO THE FACE! AND YOUR FATHER SMELLED OF ELDERBERRIES!"

Drekeen

Image
Sword wizard tries to stab a siegosaurus.

Image
And he gets impaled for it.

Image
A successful redshirt roll when crossbows fire at Chief Mountainhurler!

Image
"If we don't have any dragons for me to train, then I will BE a dragon!"

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXTJlH7g0tw

Image
For some reason, siegeosauruses are rigged to explode.

Image
And he keeps flying!

Image
...nevermind...
Dragon Trainer has died! ONE HUNDREDTH DREKEEN DEATH SPECIAL!!

Image
At least he did some damage.

Orcs

Image
"SQUISH WAS FUN! WHO ELSE WANTS A GO?"

Image
"I do." There is an audible gasp from the Lewean forces as Roland just kind of.. shows up.
"You killed the commander of the Lewean Paladin order. As the second in command, it is now my duty to kill you as my first act as the new commander. Care to make it easy for me?"

Image
"DOUBLE CHIEF SQUISH AFTERNOON? I LIKE THAT!!"

Image
Lewean troops look on in horror as the mountain comes flying towards Roland... but he... jumps towards it?

Image
He cuts right through the falling mountain and impales Chief Mountainhurler!

Image
Chief Mountainhurler has died!

Image
This triggers a panic amongst the orcs! They begin running away!

Image
Fleeing ogres smash through the barrier!

Image
Longstabs are crushed by the fleeing siegeosaurus.

Image
"AH!"

Image
"DON'T LEAVE ME GUYS!"

Image
After taking one last enigmatic look at Roland, the mysterious sorcerorc turns and leaves as well.

Image
Orcs have left the game.
ORCS DEFEATED!

Turn 11

Leweans

Image
The spearwall advances, bulldozing corpses ahead of them because they can neither tell nor care what's alive or dead.

Image
The flank turns and stabs down a swordsman.

Image
Lewean forces are really pouring into the area.

Image
Including the king's banner!

Image
Ninjas prepare to disrupt any final stand shenanigans.

Image
The others figure they might as well drop down now.

Image
"Hmm.. lot's of staging left... and a gap... I think we can do something with this." The crazy inventor dwarf is so focussed on his idea he forgets to keep up the air of all dwarves having bad Scottish accents.

Image
A bridge! How clever!

Image
That'll be convenient for a squad of rifledwarves to use!

Drekeen

Image
Crossbow bolts bounce uselessly off the large shields. Good thing they turned.

Image
But you can't parry magic!

Image
Melee units swarm the spear wall. Some find a hole in the spikey bits of death! And some don't. 3 Leweans, 2 Drekeen go down.

Turn 12

Lewean

Image
The frontline long stabby things all turn at once, killing off the last of the Drekeen melee units.

Image
The really long ones then step back because they can't really fit further ahead.

Image
Roland advances on the ranged units.

Image
"I respect your sense of duty and honour, but I have no choice but to destroy you all for the good of the realm now."

Image
Up over the giant pile of corpses we go...

Image
An "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??" of archers arrive on the high ground. They must have found an easy way up there or something!

Image
Troops continue advancing as EVEN MORE arrive.

Drekeen

Image
Crossbows fall back while yelling "We're routed!" and fire at Roland. Unfortunately for them, they just can't quite break through his plot armour (Tied the armour roll)

Image
The crossbowman not imminently in close combat with a completely OP hero picks off one of those cheating jumpy units.

Image
"You know, were I not forced into being Emperor by this war killing all the others in my family, we probably would have been friends at the academy. It is truly an honour to die by your side."

Turn lucky 13

Lewean

Image
Roland leads the dwarven hammers against the crossbowmen.

Image
Predictably, this ends with them facing the Royalguard of the Drekeen Emperor.

Image
Shurikens fly into the backs of the royalguard! What's that up there?

Image
NINJAS! WHERE ARE PIRATES WHEN YOU NEED THEM?

Image
The Royalguard are wiped out.

Image
The flagbearer defiantly plants the Emperor's flag in the back of a ninja.

Image
A dwarf quickly puts an end to that nonsense, but the flag stays standing as the bearer dies.

Image
"So it comes to this. Two mighty champions facing each other"

Image
The Emperor swings at Roland, his ill-fitting armour barely letting him move and a clear lack of experience visible in his swing.

Image
In one smooth motion, Roland cuts off his sword hand as he shoulder checks the Emperor into the wall.

Image
"It's over, Emperor."

Epilogue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yck2NU4tEM

Image
"Your terms, Emperor"

Image
"These are more reasonable than I expected for a war we started. I accept."

Image
"EMPEROR!" a young axeman regains conciousness and leaps at the Lewean king. If he can kill the king, the war is not lost!

Image
Unfortunately, he forgot the bit about "Ridiculously OP hero" and Roland grabs him out of the air.

Image
And pins him down with his own axe.

Image
"I admire you bravery, and the bravery of all the Drekeen this day."
"Soldier, it's over. We lost. What is your name?"
"Private Destin Tadaharu!"

Image
"You have new orders. You will bear my body back to Dragon's Roost."
"WHAT? NO!"

Image
"It's the only way to restore the peace we broke when we started burning villages with dragonfire, captain. You are the last of my personal guard, give him the epaulettes of the captain of my Royalguard. Unfortunately I can't pin your promotion on you myself."

Image
A knight leads up a horse with all the finery of the Drekeen on it.
"I see. It's time."

Image
"My armour, captain. I can't get it off alone now. They will be taking care of it."

Image
Captain Tadaharu helps the Emperor remove the imperial armour.

Image
Emperor Tiberius Auralnus is but a boy. Forced into rule when all of his elders were killed during the war. Should have been just starting as a squire now really.

Image
"In my flagbearers pack is a wand of proclamation, one of the last things I have from Rudival when he gave up on the Empire a few months ago. Told me to use it to announce our surrender. I guess he gets his way now. Please don't argue, I don't want to prolong this anymore than I have to."

Image
Captain Tadaharu retrieves the wand.

Image
"Welcome. To record your message, please press 1 and wait for the beep, then press 1 when done recording"
BEEP
"This is Emperor Tiberius Auralnus, leader of the Drekeen Empire. We surrender. The Empire is defeated. Drekeen forces will be allowed to return home in peace. Lewean forces will be allowed to return home in peace. Prisoners of war will be released by both sides. The Luminarian church will assist with reconstruction in both lands. Captain Destin Tadaharu will bring me back to Dragon's Roost with the detailed terms of our surrender."
"Message recorded. Would you like to listen to your message? 1 for yes, 2 for no"
BEEP
"Would you like to send your message now? 1 for yes, 2 for no"
BEEP
The message is heard for miles, certainly far enough for word to get out that the war is over.

Image
"Go on. Do it. I'm glad I won't be paraded through the streets."

Image
"Guh."
Image
"My emperor..."

Image
Emperor Tiberius Auralnus is silently loaded onto the horse.

Image
His sword and flag are returned. The Leweans will take the Imperial Armour.

Image
Captain Tadaharu begins the solemn journey back home with his fallen Emperor.

Image
Lewean forces part and salute as he passes in silence.

Image
He promises himself one thing at this moment: This is not the end. The Emperor was mistaken. The Empire will survive. It will be back. And the Leweans will pay.

Image
"I must thank you in particular Roland. As long as the Luminarian Church is united with the kingdom of Lewea, we will be an unstoppable force. I shall pledge my second son to the church itself, if you both survive long enough, will take him on as your squire in addition to leading the Paladin order?"
"It would be my honour my liege."
"Good. We have much work to do rebuilding now, I believe you will have some influence in choosing the next head of the Luminarian church now..."

Image
Final overview

Image
Orc front carnage.

Image
Lewean front carnage.

Image
Center carnage.

Image
Center... uuhh.. center carnage.

Image
Aerial shot.

Image
Another aerial shot.

Image
All corners must be represented.

Image
Four corners!
