The S.C.O.U.T. team lands on a bridge and hops down to the ground in the most stylish way.
"Hmm, weren´t we supposed to exit at an existing portal? What IS this place?"
"Watch out!"




Before anyone can answer the question, a giant green bot approaches the team in attack mode.
"Fire at will..."
"wait... what´s that?"
*Rooooaaaarrrr!*





*PTONK!*
The green bot is taken down by a giant Hulk Unikitty that jumped out of nowhere.
"wow, that was close. But stay alarmed everyone. We don´t know who that... wait... is this..."





"Oh, hello, fellow Tilelanders! It´s me, Ernienator!"





"Tilelanders? Ernienator? Did I just have a stroke or something? We´re S.C.O.U.T.S. from Studland, and we know a Quantumsurfer called Bertinator..."





"Studland, eh? THAT part of Brikverse Prime, I see. Bert didn´t tell you much about the Multiverse, did he? Chrr-Hrr-Hrr-hrr! Well then, welcome to the 'Nexus of Reality, Time and Hubris' - or 'N.o.R.T.H.' if you like! These are my fellow Quantumsurfers 'Mergo_Old', 'Dead Nervyr' and 'InsaneMario'."

"Okay, if I didn´t HAVE a headache already I`d surely have gotten it NOW..."





While the Studlanders and Ernienator talk, some Trattorian drones and Brootalz appear from different directions. The other Quantumsurfers engage them immediately.

"You see, this is a place where everything connects. All factions of all brikverses and all times are attracted by the PLOT."

"The... what?"

"The 'Power of Loot, Ossum and Tenaciousness' is a forcefield that - regardless of faction or origin - attracts inhabitants of the multiverse. All kinds of heroes of all factions concentrate here in a neverending, epic battle for loot, glory and gratuituous epicness!"

"Okay, gotcha. But... how do we leave this place? Have you seen any portals around?"





"Hmm, as Quantumsurfers we don´t need portals to get around. Also I thought Studlanders were always up for a good fight. But if you really insist on getting home, try asking over there, some of the classic factions have settlements there. They might have what you need to build a Portal. If you´ll excuse us now, we have countless enemies to defeat! Chrr-Hrr-hrr! See ya!"





And so, the Studlanders leave the fray, walking up to a small settlement...





"Is this... a Space Castle City Fort? Where are my painkillers when I need them?"

Knight´s Random Kingdom




The Knight faction, led by King Dolinski, spreads out and takes position behind the wall pieces, waiting for response action. The Dwarf and Bl4ck_F4lc0n.exe collect the nearby geodes, wondering what they may be good for. If point-and-click-adventures teached us ONE thing, then that they´ll sure have a use later in the game.




Studlanders




The scouts also spread out and start collecting geodes.


This Studlander is so fascinated by the sparkling rock that he totally forgets to shoot at the toxic waste barrel like he initially intended.


Another geode gets picked up. Man, picking up geodes must be THE thing in the brikverse now...

Queen Kahooka: "So, you like these geodes, outlanders?"


"Then let me welcome you with this gift."


*Bonk* *swoooosh!*

The leader of the S.C.O.U.T. team tries an old trick to convince bystanders to fight on their side.
"I guess my poledance skills from the night club will come in handy here..."

Two of the townspeople who witnessed the 'poledance' try to keep their countenance

Stuffy runs over to the wooden fence and hides right behind.


"Tee-hee! Look, Bunny. We hide here and wait until one of these dumb Space idiots come over..."


"...and as soon as we see one of their ugly faces, we blow it off with my dynamite. How does that sound?"

Betty Blue is still dazzled from the explosion she caused. Space Police Draco guards the scene.
Orange Spaceman meanwhile tries to build a subspace comm-relais to call reinforcements...

Note: This is the sixth critfail in turn one alone. Dice will be exchanged and incinerated after that.


"I'm sure this thing has enough POWER to reach another star SYSTEM."
Autopilot:"Acknowledged. Giving power to all systems!"

"Here, catch! We should gather these things in one place, I guess that'll be important somehow."



"I'll take care of those pirates by now."
So the studlander promises, but completely misses his shot.



The robo studlander also yeets his geode towards the portal technician.

"Thanks, man. Now we should be able to create and activate a portal out of here."



But the robo studlander causes a response action from Captain Redshirt...



*BLAM!*
And before he can say anything more, his head is blown off...



"Dangit, man. I'll make sure your sacrifice won't be in vain. Let´s get that portal thing running!"

Both the Pirates and the Knights have set eyes on the little space buggy...



"Let it be known that I, King Dolinski, who spotted this horseless carriage upon our borders, shall be its possessor from now on and at all time..."

"Sire, the bricks in the wall are loose."
"Shut it, Robbin` - I found it out myself!" (feat fail)



Peg Leg Pete seems more fortunate in his attempt to capture the buggy...



"Yarrr!"

Pete decapitates the Goopman and prepares to board the buggy himself...



...but Betty and Draco just waited for someone to get in range for their response fire!
*Blam* *Blam*
Both hit perfectly and so immediately end Peg Leg Pete's joyride - and also his life.



Bl4ck_F4lc0n.exe sees his chance and runs over to take control of the coveted car.



...and with no one left for response actions, he succeeds and boards the buggy!

"I´m sure there´s some really, really big explosive somewhere here, preferably directly beneath an enemy base, so we can instantly blow it up!"

Queen Kahooka plans to jump in the water and swim up to the studland portal device to deactivate it.



But she already fails to climb over the palisades unharmed. She trips, falls on her backpack and - to make matters worse - her flintlock pistol goes off in the process.



And just now the dice are lucky to hit. Yet Captain Redshirt can not be happy about that for some reason...

Betty Blue: "Umm... Bye?"



In response to the blatantly failed attack, both Betty Blue and Space Police Draco shoot at the nearest Knights. Yet they fail to hit, because distance.

*clink!* The grenade misses its target and falls into... Uh-Oh!

The SCOUT who knows what is about to happen quickly tries to revive the portal device.
"Dangit, there must be something we can do to get you running, eh?"



"If those other colours don´t work, maybe this will do?"
In a last desperate attempt the SCOUT slams a green geode onto the apparatus...



...which comes to life with sizzling sounds and begins to do its magic.
"Hell yeah! It works!"



"Quick, Captain! Get in there! I´ll be right behind you!"



...and with the sound of a giant explosion in the background, the two Studlanders escape in the very last second...
