Introduction:



On a field, anywhere in the middle southwest of the brikverse, there´s a food truck festival about to begin. The vendors are already there, and first visitors have begun to show up, yet Fred and Mary, the host couple, seem a bit nervous...



Mary: "They should've been here an hour ago or so..."
Fred: "But who?"
"Why, the thirteen zombie mannequins I ordered! It´s this years' Hellhunt theme!"
"What? Thirteen? That was some years ago, hun! Also - I thought the theme was pumpkins? Why did I put pumpkins everywhere, then?"
"No, it´s the zombies. and the pumpkins were even before that!"



"Ah, finally! Here we go!"



The truck driver parks in the entrance zone and heads to the couple.
"Zombie delivery for the Food Truck Festival? Sign here."



Fred takes the delivery note.
"Wasn't spiders on the moon the year before?"
"Aw, sweety, you getting everything mixed up now..."
The truck driver starts to unload his freight.



He then grabs the signed delivery note and goes back to the truck.
"Thanks for using Zombie Delivery. Have a nice day."
"Hm, how do we move all these mannequins now?"
"Also, when do you plan to pick them up again?"



"Mannequins? Pick them up? What'yer talking 'bout? You ordered zombies. They´re yours now. Hope you´ve ordered enough brains to feed 'em, otherwise they'll go on a feeding frenzy soon..."



"WAIT... THOSE ARE... REAL ZOMBIES???"
"Ma'am, you literally ordered at a service called 'Zombie Delivery'. What did ya expect? Maybe check the Terms of Service next time. See ya!"



The couple looks at the pile of lifeless bodies in shock.
"Hmm, they're not moving at all. Was he pranking us?"
"Haha, yeah, seems they're mannequins at all... He got us."



*Gnaaaaaarl!*
"Oh, shit."



And so, the frenzy begins!

Some may remember the Wheel of the Witches from some years ago. I kept it and changed some effects to fit the scenario.
Once a turn a player can decide to turn the wheel as a free action. BEFORE the spin it must be declared if the effect hits yourself, a target character or a random character.

The effects are (from top, clockwise):
-spin again
-target gets a random ice cream
-target falls asleep immediately
-`kaboom!' - 1 d10 explosion - from target (1d6" distance in the direction that´s determined by another wheel spin in the inner circle) - believe me, that´s really funny!
-target instantly catches fire
-I ask ChatGPT what should happen to target (I've never done that before, It'll be fun I guess.)
-random dinosaur appears at target.
-target gets a random caketarget gets a degree (in what ever field is acceptable, target gets one higher class die for every roll for the rest of the game.)
-more dinosaurs. because I have many dinosaurs that need to get out of the bin.
-target instantly dies.
-more fire.



I also placed several miniature gumball machines on the field that could be activated by any player or NPC.
I filled the big gumball machine with random weapon packs, items, armor and even companions. As soon as a figure is in range of a gumball machine it can activate it to get a ball's content.

Pigsy and Monkie Kid


Pigsy sees disaster dawning. He kicks over his table to get a makeshift barricade.



"Alright, MK, prepare for trouble. Get yourself armed, and get that kid behind the barricades!"



"Sure thing, Pigsy. Let´s get ready to rumble!"



They both hide behind the barricades, and the kid is safe... for now.



Pigsy also spins the wheel, with the middle-most zombie as target:



The wheel holds at 'fire', and so the zombie spontaneously goes up in flames.



Monster Burger Crew


The Monster Burger vendors decide to get the gumball machine right up to their counter, so they can profit from it easier.
Undershirt man: "Yo, Mustache, get that thing right up here!"
Mustache-and-pilot's-cap-man: "I have a name, Steve, and you know that!"



Nevertheless, he hauls the machine up the small stairway. As he holds it on the rotary knob, he inadvertently activates it.



Out falls a ball with an armor set, which drags him down to the gound again.
"OOF!"



*sigh* "Fine, I'll take the bait. That armor looks really nice. Gimme a sec."



"Hold my beer."
Steve gives Mustache-and-pilot's-cap-man the bottle and puts on the heavy armor.



"Aw, yeah, I guess we're going to slay some zombies now."



Banana Man


Banana Man just gets a few donuts and a small coffee at the donut truck. He didn't have breakfast today. He gets angry when he doesn't get his blood glucose levels in balance.



Mrs. Pepper


Mrs. Pepper eagerly appproaches the nearest festival visitor and immediatley starts talking at him.
"Hey, Mr. backpack guy! How´s your day going?"



"Umm, thanks. It was quite okay up to now. Yet I´ve heard there are zombies roaming around here."
"Well, that sounds great, doesn't it? Wanna be best friends?"

Zombies and NPCs

The zombies slowly proceed, approaching the nearest visitors to gnaw. Some already reach their unsuspecting victims and score first blood.

Pigsy and MK


Pigsy once again decids to activate the wheel, this time targeting the closest zombie. we got a 'kaboom!'



*KABOOM!*



After that, Pigsy decides that waiting for the zombies to come over is boring, and climbs up to the trucks' roof...



...where the giant pig figure turns out to have a gatling gun in its nose!



And apparently Pigsy knows how to use it.



DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!



*splurch* *splat* *crunch* - Three zombies fall in the volley!


Unfortunately, this was the first and last time that the gatling worked...




Banana Man


"Ah, that was refreshing! I feel like I could run across the whole field now in an instant!"


"In fact - let's find out! I think the view is better over there anyway! Hup!"



*ZZZZZOOOOOO....


OOOOOOOOOOOO....


OOOOOOOMMMMMM*


"Yup, there we are. And the view is REALLY better here!"




Monster Burger Crew


Steve, now in heavy armor, starts to sprint up to the next zombie. But... he's wearing heavy armor and thus is not coming far...



Mustache Man, however, quickly got to the hood of the other burger truck, and has a plan.



"Ever wondered why they're called Smash Burger?" *YEET*



*SSSSSSSSS*



*SMASH!*


Veggie Truck Crew



Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield, one of the vendors has an idea...
"Hey, remember that batshit crazy food dimension thing some years ago? They knew how to summon demons with a - what was it called - LEY LIME!"



And after scraping their brain cells (and re-reading some old forum battle posts for too long) the veggie vendors recreate a Ley Lime - the ancient portal to the food dimension...



It seems to work. As soon as they finished painting the sybol, the surrounding air smells like lemon, and the light turns slightly green...



*ZAAAAAAPPPP*



"Grah! It is I, a random appledemon! Who summoned me, and on what behalf?"



"Greetings. Long story short - zombies over there, need to be killed. And we just needed a crossover to earlier battles because we always do."



"Seems legit. So, zombies to kill, very good. Let´'s gooo!"




Mrs. Pepper

Mrs. Pepper activates the wheel, with herself as a target...


...and so, for the first time in brikwars history (or prove me wrong on that), ChatGPT gets to decide what happens next!




Boy, that's still scary! But I must admit, that´s pretty good options.

The player then decided to go with Option 2:


"Hey, now hat we´re best buddies for life, I take care of your concerns. So these zombies are a problem, huh? What if we fight them together right now?"



"We could form a team to defend the festival, and show everyone what best buddies are capable of. How does that sound?"
"That... sounds really good to me! Let´s go! We need to build equipment immediately!"



"Hey, you guys, we need to... Wait a minute - do I WANT to know what you´re selling here...?""
"What? Joe's Mama makes the best Borscht in all the brikverse! Wanna try?"
"Umm...*yuck* maybe later, first we need some things from your truck."
"Hm, your loss. But go ahead."



"We'll just borrow some of this for a moment. Oh, and that. And I need this also, for obvious reasons."
"And that. And this. And just a little of these..."



And so, moments later, Mrs. Pepper and Backpack guy form the first ever FOOD TRUCK DEFENSE SQUAD!


Zombies and NPCs



The remaining zombies further proceed to their respective nearest victims.


Slow but steady.


Some civilians can outrun them, but it´s just a matter of time.

Monster Burger Crew


Another wheelspin, once more targeted on a zombie. He gets a cake!



*PLOP!* Here, have fun with it!
"Uuuuurgh?"



Mustache Man remembers his time as a professional parkour runner and decides that this comes in handy when jumping between different food trucks.



What he DOESN'T remember is that this time was several years back and he didn't have much practice since then...



The result is as hilarious as it was predictable. *Schplonkatomps!* (Yes, thats exactly the sound that this makes!)
"Ugh. Sorry 'bout that, dude!"



"Urrrrghl*SPLURCH!*
Heavy Armor Steve is meanwhile more successful and skewers a zombie cheerleader.




Banana Man


He decides that he ran enough and now needs another form of workout.



"Geronimoo!"



*SNIKT* *SNAKT*
"And that's what's called a Banana Split, b*tch!" (Pun credits: Cybrandir)




Veggie Truck Crew / Appledemon


Meanwhile, the appledemon engages a zombie...


...but is immediately interrupted by another ones' response action. He now has to deal with both of 'em



Pigsy and MK


With the gatling nonfunctional, Pigsy ponders his options.



His eyes lock on the giant burger and donut figures on the neighboring trucks...
"Hmmm. I wonder if those other advertisements have offensive capabilities, too?"



"Well, only one way to find out, I guess!"



As the feature is successful, there's now a 6" raygun with 24" range mounted on top of a foodtruck.



What follows next is the most insane die roll ever. NOT ONLY does Pigsy HIT THE USE OF 8 with a critical 6 and an overskill die, but ALSO ROLLS 3 OVERSKILL DICE for a total of 42 damage! (Note: I just realized that there should have been another overskill die for the 3rd d6, but that doesn´t change much about the outcome...)



"Hey, MK, get your asses inside and close the door. It´s getting hot here soon!"
"Okeydokey! It´s about time for some more action!"



"And now, everybody hold still and say 'Cheese!' " *charging_raygun.wav*



*FA-ZOOOM!*

The ray plows through the ground, leaving a crater of dead bodies and devastation. Heavy Armor Steve and Burgerhead Zombie are among the casualties. Also half the barn decoration, some part of the fence and the entrance gate are obliterated.



Mrs. Pepper and Backpack Guy Food Truck Defense Squad



Mrs. Pepper aims her improvised wrench launcher directly to the nearest zombie...



...and manages to completely miss the shot. But she now has the zombie's full attention.



Backpack Guy runs in front of the coffee stand and targets another zombie.
"Hey dude, is your coffee hot enough? No? Well, let me help!"



*SIZZLE*

The light turns to a fiery red, and the smell of roasted coffee blends with that of rotten burnt flesh. Another zombie down.


Zombies and NPCs don´t move due to either having their movements spent on response or bailing, or because I simply forgot them...

End of Turn Three

A zombie gets his movement, and overcomes the pizza costume guy.



In the inflexible costume, and only armed with a cardboard sign, pizza suit guy stands no chance against the hungry undead.




Banana Man



"Hey, you!"
"Urrrgh?"
"Do you peel lucky, punk?"



*BLAM!*

Well, an Apple a day keeps the doctor away. And a Banana sends friggin' zombies back to hell.



Monster Burger Crew (...and friends, apparently)



All the tremors finally make the gumball machine fall back down the stairway of the burger truck...



...where it lands in front of cheerleader girl.



"Oooh, bubblegum! I Looove bubblegum!"
*click* *rrrkt-rrkt*



"Heeyy! That´s no bubblegum! That´s OT armor!"



"Hm, might as well slaughter some zombies then!"
And with that said she runs directly towards the nearest zombie that's still alive undead.



Mustache Man is back on his feet, and looking for new weapon options.
"Gotta get myself armed real quick, before the zombies come back!"



"Yeah, this will do real fine!"
He jumps out of the coffee stand...



...and grabs one of the fallen down flags from the entrance gate.
"Pole position, baby!"
He now only lacks zombies in range to kill with it...




Food Truck Defense Squad


Mrs. Pepper now has a problem. the zombie is closing in and her weapon doesn`t work. She needs to find a solution quickly.
Then she luckily remembers a fighting technique she once learned from an old turtle hermit.



"Kaa Mee..."



"Haa Mee..."



"HAAA!"
*FTOOOMP!*



"...wait, what?"
"What's the problem? It's me, Kamehameha, first king of Hawai'i. You summoned me, or not?"
"Umm, that's not really how it's supposed to work..."



Luckily, Kamehameha remembers a fighting technique he once learned from an old turtle hermit.
"MYY NAAAAAME!"
*FTOOOMP!*

The zombie's smashed to smithereen by the shockwave.




Pigsy and MK


"Monkie! I have a plan! Get on the drivers seat and roll us out of here, while I get the gun working again!"
"That sounds like a good plan!"



Monkie Kid gets behind the steering wheel, while Pigsy opens the machine for repairs.
"Uhh, this may take a while..."


"Just make sure the truck doesn't shake too much. No driving over hard things, hear me?"
"Chill, Pigsy, I know how to drive!"



*bonk!*



"Oh, for Flarks sake! What did I just say?"
Pigsy is thrown off the truck and rips off some crucial cables, obviously. The gun starts making noises. No good noises, that is.



*SHWOOOOM!*
And soon the malfunctioning gun propels the truck across the field...



*tire_squeak.wav* *explosion_medium_wood_and_stone.wav*

A pedestrian and the last zombie are in the way of the cowcatcher on Pigsys truck, their (un-)lifes ending abruptly...



And so the last zombie and some protagonists leave the battlefield with a bang.
ALL ZOMBIES DEFEATED!

Lots of blood and gore, amazing practical effects as always. The gameplay aspect I find slightly overshadowed by the amount of event gimmicks and weapons crafting. Some of your photos are very zoomed in, leaving out some of the battlefield context.

Awesome effects like always! I also like the wheel, and although I do agree with Bert on the gimmicks but I quite liked them in our irl battles so that might just be a spectator thing. Furthermore I would say you had the best zombies this Hellhunt! You also get bonus points because I believe you said you were doing the battle while drunk haha.
