An easy way is to let every player make a secret roll on this table to determine their objective (and then write down the objective on a secret note):
D6 - Result
1 - Make sure the leaders for all enemy armies die.
2 - Move at least 50 CPs' worth of stuff off the opposite table edge.
3 - Gather a pile of 20 heads. If there are several players with this objective, the player with the largest pile wins.
4 - Completely annihilate one army of your choice. The name of the army you choose must be written down on the secret note.
5 - Create 15 explosions.
6 - Figure out what the objectives for all the opposing armies are. You can make the guess once. If you guess correctly for every army, you win. Otherwise you lose and your troops commit suicide out of shame.
Whichever army completes its objective first wins.

Good idea, I can easily adapt it, but I might have problems with people being truthful.

You can write the objectives on pieces of paper, put them in a hat, and let everyone draw one.

I like all except for #6. It kinda sucks. I especially like #2. Maybe #6 could be assassinate someone's heroes or something.

possibly important-ish detail: should all players know what objectives the others could possibly have, or should you let them grab out of the hat without telling them whats inside?

If you include objective 6, then you should know what's inside the hat. Otherwise it's not necessary. Unless of course the person who wrote the notes is taking part in the game, then everyone should know for the sake of fairness.

Isn't always Reverent Green or something? Protestants, always doing murder...
My Contribution: Some sort of deathmatch style game with people assigned money, which can buy equipment. They then field this one guy through a series of battles, building up a sig-fig and retinue as the weeks go on/

I like the drawing out from a hat method. I would suggest some of the below:
- Kill all opposing Heroes. Bring their heads to base or a friendly Hero.
- Destroy all of a certain kind of object. (I suggest gas pumps and politicians)
- Bring five mugs of beer to base or a friendly Hero. (Or whatever you have handy)
- Find a certain item, whose location is unknown.
- Build at least two Vehicles from scrap parts.
- Commandeer a bus. (Or whatever seems appropriate)
- Kill an opponent in as spectacular a manner possible. May require voting.
- Blowup a donut factory. (Or whatever seems appropriate)
'Course, these are just examples. As for CP, keep it kinda small; about 100-150 will do. If you plan on taking an objective, make sure there's more objectives than players; that way, even you won't be too sure what's going on.
