Blood and fire - necessary or useless?

Use you fire, blood or muzzle blast in battles?

In battle reported-games, i use both. For other playing, i leave off muzzle blasts.
Of course battlefield looks awesome with lots of scrap, bloody minifig torsos and flaming ruins...

Same here. Muzzle blasts are good for indicating firing weapons in battle reports, but unnecessary in normal battles.

If your taking pictures and want to thrill the audience then Blood and Fire is the way to go.

Depends on how I feel. If I want a round over and done with I just put the figs down, if I'm feeling bloody and have a lot of time I try to add some blood / fire effects. I don't have a great supply of useful parts for it though and mostly it's pretty basic even if I use this. At any rate I at least have the fire and blood pieces on standby.

I have a handful of TRred bitz for blood, their usage depends on the size of the battle and my mood. But yeah, mostly I only use them to enhance photos for reports.

I might be getting this wrong but it seem like you are following the rules a bit too much Maddox. If you are then please just let lose a bit, make a nice pan of fudge and play a game. The rules are "more like guidelines anyway" they are there to help those who are lacking with the imagination department but not to hold back the imagination.*

Back to topic I use blood and fire all the time it helps has that .. homey feeling.

*if I did just read what you are doing all wrong then just ignore that paragraph. Just trying to help a fellow player here.

It's kind of just one of those things that wastes time, but can make the difference between a "normal" and an "epic" battle.

Exactly. I use it only if I'm taking photos, but still, it is something that helps to make the battle awesomer

I use gratuitous amounts of blood. Fire also, whenever appropriate, although it's a little harder to set up right. Muzzle blasts, on the other hand, I never use. I don't care what the gun looks like WHILE it's shooting, I only care about the damage it does after it shoots.

Once in a while I will do laser beams with transparent antennae, but I really have to be in the mood or shooting close range for a picture to bother.

Usually i like them, because they make legobattles more like real battles.
