Mercenary Campain

A while ago, I discovered a group on solo wargaming. Since I work every evenings, and I'm compleatly anti-social anyway, I found that it was perfect for me. So, I started a (slow progessing) solo campain, centered on the adventures of a small mercenary band on a world where magic and science battle one another.

You can find the images I took on my brickshelf page here:

If you want to find more, I stored the battle report on the old brikwar yahoo group, in the file section. Just ignore the message, or you'll get a spam overdose.

it being solo kind of ruins the ideals of the brikwars universe but it is still pretty cool.

solo battles are fine. in fact, they're very helpful in some regards: since the player always wins since he is both sides, he can focus on making deaths as violent as possible through teamwork! such as, army A forces all it's men into a giant tower, and then army B knocks tower over (on top of themselves), killing EVERYONE. remember: brikwars is about violence, not winning.

It doesn't kill the Brikwars mood if the nearest opponate is over two hours drive away. Which, for me, it is. I really need to make some bloody terrain, the RAA's and BBE's trigger fingers are getting itchy.

Also, when playing solo, you can try any rule variation you want. You also don't have to worry about the battle being cut short because your opposition needs to leave before the end.

Of course, it's not something everyone enjoys. But if anyone want to try it, I recommend looking up the "introduction to solo wargaming", by Bob "Seur d'Armadilleaux", on the solowargaming yahoo group.

Of course it has ideals! ... so that the players can CRUSH THEM.

HAHA!
isn't it great? Its so easy to play, no complicated decisions.

"Do I flank the opposing army or charge them while leaving half my forces behind to defend...

aw, screw it I'm just gonna blow everyone up!"

Damn, I should consider conducting my own solo campaign, seeing as how I have no one to play with T_T
