I would, if it were a central, defining component for the faction and had a good justification, not to mention a creative execution.Vami IV wrote:Dilanski and Colette don't.loafofcheese wrote:You know, Vami, I actually like the idea of a faction that just uses re-fitted designs from other navies in a new colour scheme.

And that's not justification enough by itself? The most important part of any faction design is figuring out how to use it to troll other players.Vami IV wrote:Dilanski and Colette don't.loafofcheese wrote:You know, Vami, I actually like the idea of a faction that just uses re-fitted designs from other navies in a new colour scheme.

That sounds amazing, and it would mean that something actually came out of the Silvarian genocides. Please do.Colette wrote:[

Take, for example, a faction which were to consist of a hive-minded rampant AI virus infection. With no tangible form, the AI's only means of taking action in the physical realm would be to hack and hijack ships and hardware. Some creative modding could yield a motley of ships of all sizes from across a dozen star nations, all dilapidated, rusting, and falling apart from decades of disrepair and lack of maintenance from their former organic masters.
This is pretty similar to the idea I had with Ireul. I could probably act on it if Silva wanted to.

As always, I have the perfect EVE related example, the Dominix is a Gallente battleship, a large space potato, which fights using drones, sort of like a miniature carrier. Also, due to the relatively low recruit rate of the Gallente, their ships are heavily automated, using mostly drones no less. And according to TV tropes, this can only lead to a sentient AI controller taking over hundreds of these battleships, killing the crew, and turning them into an army of kilometre long sentient drones.Colette wrote:I would, if it were a central, defining component for the faction and had a good justification, not to mention a creative execution.Vami IV wrote:Dilanski and Colette don't.loafofcheese wrote:You know, Vami, I actually like the idea of a faction that just uses re-fitted designs from other navies in a new colour scheme.

We upload the LXFs so other people can use them in forum battles without having to build them from scratch, one of the greatest advantages to using LDD for microspace.Zupponn wrote:I have a feeling that certain people will always bitch about stolen builds.
There is one thing about the copy-pasta dealio that bugs me though. If you don't want your ideas stolen, then don't upload them for others to steal. It would sort of be like the US uploading the designs to their newest tank to the internet and then complaining that the Russians are copying them.

Are those missile tubes mounted directly under main guns?Vami IV wrote:El Burro class Battleship added.
EDIT:
Lxf added. The link is the main picture. Feel free to edit, tweak, mod, etc. it. Just give credit where it's due. Remember, I enjoy seeing what other people can do with my models.
