So for those of you who want to render from LDD - I found this link from the MF-0 page on facebook, it's called bluerender, it's free - and it rocks hard balls.

Rather than fucking around with POV-Ray and the rest of that crap it seems to be based off of java and SunFlow.
It rendered the entire Diety MK-II on my machine in 38 seconds. It took several hours for LDD to POV to render the Monarch Image I did last year.
Just thought you guys should know.

And a Scythian trooper for good measure.

Make sure to save your build in the most recent version of LDD. Otherwise this tool will just throw an exception.

java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBondsException:1
Anyone have a clue? It's stopping me from rendering some ships. Otherwise the results are pretty quick and good.

Even sexier in Rendered Form. I thought I'd never get to see this beauty rendered thanks to POV-Ray. Thanks, Scythe!

Just to show you how strong this tool it. Got me that beauty rendered in just a few minutes:

I don't know if it's necessarily more powerful. It doesn't seem to be very good at rendering metallics, so there's that. Maybe it only renders the visible elements or something? I'm not really sure how to confirm or debunk that idea though.

Metalic items need to have something to reflect.
In Unity I can set a white sphere to 100% metalic and it will render black, unless I have something set up to reflect off of it.
When I do that, it looks like a mirror.
Maybe there is a setting you can find.

I was just saying that regarding everyone's pictures. I haven't actually used it. The metallic areas just look extremely grainy, almost like they didn't finish rendering.

Now everyone can render their penises in style!

Built some Edge Cruisers and rendered them. While metallics do look quite grainy, it kinda looks cool on gun metal.

So that's grainy because of the renderer, not because its part of the texture?
That's weird.
Does look good though.

Test for blue render and flickr to forums.
