The 50 Piece Mech Challenge

Title says it all. You've got 50 pieces to build one mech with at least two articulated limbs (legs, arms, tendrils, etc) in LDD. Might be a bit similar to another challenge that just recently got put up but building mechs instead of ships might add an additional layer of depth to it. Alternate form of the mech are fine, as long as it has one form where it's clearly recognizable as a legit mech.

So here's my first entry:

Der Cyberbulle:
A robotic law enforcement unit created to ensure safety in the vast cyberspace of Cyber-Deutschland. Armed with a cyber gun and cyber handcuffs, he is well equipped to take on any kind of cyber scum out there.

Another one:

Yakisoba Taichou
Once the mascot of Butaniku Foods, this robot suffered from a faulty AI that now causes him to go on a rampage and whack everything with his giant chopsticks.

And yet another one:

Fire Totem Warrior
A biomechanical warrior stranded on an island to defend its inhabitants from the evil spirit of Makooti. Armed with a fire sword and the Mask of Warding.

On a side note: while I wouldn't mind CCBS pieces, the mech itself shouldn't have its core body made out of a CCBS skeleton and the like.

A mechanical warrior lurking under the sea to defend its home from over-curious prospectors and other dangers.

Revenire Class Artillery Platform.





Used to devastating effect in the Pangea wars on an un-named and heavily forested world, the Revenire (IRL romanian for "troll" I hope) is used for long range artillery strikes against heavily fortified infantry and light vehicles in the thick woodlands of the distant worlds.

It is also equipped with an underslung autocannon for additional protection, although targets would rarely get close to the Revenire to permit it's use.

The Dervish-class mobile walkers of the Razzashi are dreaded throughout the dunes of Melchior-V. Despite their bulky stature, these fearsome frames silently stalk the sands, picking off their opponents with a trio of beamcaster cannons from afar; however they usually prefer delivering the killing blow with their dreaded greatswords to claim the downed unit's head as a trophy to present.

The native gigantogors of Rulkirk Prime have been a thorn in the side of mining corps for too long, leading to the development of the GentleGiant(tm) heavy pummeler frame. Retaining some of the rustic charm of other equipment, this treaded hulk packs a powerful beam cannon and a pair of reinforced alloy fists to settle territorial disputes.

Prior to the rise of the Commonwealth and the resurrection of the Ketir-Iah, mechanized drones handled a number of mundane tasks. This Hunter-Killer drone handled the day to day business of casual murder, slave enforcement, and similar duties. They were brutal machines, without remorse, but they didn't hold a candle to their masters, who often used them for amusement's sake.

I didn't realize that the challenge required two articulate hands, so I followed the storyline to compensate.



After the Culling, most of the Hunter-Killers were gleefully ripped apart by the Commonwealth but some survived. As the Ketir regained control of their own destinies, they repurposed these mechs to suit their newfound style of warfare. The drones were give extender arms, one with a shielded hand, to handle bomb disposal and general scouting duties. The Ketir do their own killing now.

Nah, bipedal ATST-like mechs are also fine. The minimal two limbs don't have to be arms (if you want you might try a mech with just one arm and one leg). Sofar, every entry is legit (including Quantum's first drone with gun arms) and you've done a pretty good job so far.

Here's another one of mine:

Fisto doesn't care if others make fun of his puny legs. Mocking just gives him more reason to punch his fellows right in their faces.

Wolverine Orbital Frame.





Dreaded in the Zeta Sector for their high speed melee assaults on starships of all sizes, the Wolverine Orbital Frame is armed with nothing more than multiple fuck-huge engines and four razor sharp claws that they use to latch onto, and then cut starships to shreds.

He's this guy's big brother (far right).

For rapid deployment, particularly in urban environments. Highly maneuverable and combat dexterous. Uses armor plating to turn damaging hits into glancing blows. Typically equipped for melee and short to medium range combat.

The Nimrod Titan is armed with two heavy plasma cannons and a pair of mass drivers to make quick work out of any smaller ground target. In order to give a tactical edge in combat, it can quickly deploy into an orbital gunboat, providing adequate gun support against bigger vessels.

The Warhounds of Wrykor are one of the most notorious mercenary clans one can find. Their combat frames are fast, agile, and pack heavy firepower - add flawless teamwork to all of that and you have a lethal combination.

Technically a 50 piece mech(s) entry.

Geist Spectre Scuttler

Geist Dread Spectre's sometimes shape monstrosities like the Scuttler to help them more effectively sow terror and nightmares in the hearts and minds of their enemies. Scuttlers are usually armed with a bewildering array of dreadful weaponry. Like all Geist creatures, Scuttlers rely on Ecto-115 to survive corporeally and the Scuttler is predictably outfitted with both an Ecto tank and several capacitors to keep the evil thing powered up for some time.

While it might look, as if it would fall apart simply by looking at it, the Spleen Squisha can surely make up for its poor armour with incredibly high damage output. A few guns, a pair of heavy missiles and a huge power fist should be more than enough to prove that.
