actually, disorder is the driving force behind jet engines, what with gas particles randomly moving in different directions, and being superheated and directed out the other end.

You cannot superheat objects without order and directing is another form of order (literally, the making of order). So Jet Engines actually take unordered gas particles and order them.

no, but a positive change in heat increases the entropy of a system drastically. entropy = scientific measure of disorder.

well, USUALLY any increase. more heat = faster moving particles = more disorder = higher entropy

horseman is correct on this one. the yet engine heats up the air, increasing the disorder and the pressure, which is then made to go backwards.. ingenious.
