Beginnings of a new empire

Hey guys!
This is the backstory for.... well you'll see. I just need to actually get out my camera and take pictures now. So prepare for some epic storytelling (hopefully) and the story will begin soon. (I hope, otherwise this will be a huge cliffhanger!)

So it begins...

on the S.S.A. (Syndicate Star Alliance) Hyperion. The ship is on a routine patrol of the Alehi sector of their space.

While on patrol, the ship encounters a small cylinder floating through space.

Because protocol is nonexistent here, the captain proceeds to order to teleport the object into the teleport room. An officer goes to investigate.

There is a small explosion - the cylinder spatters a black goo over the inside of the room.

[Darkstorm]

The officer comes out of the room, both slightly disgusted and slightly intrigued, as a minifig might be if black goo was sprayed on them.

"I'm fine guys. I don't know what that stuff was. I'll have to clea- *cough* *COUGH* *COUGH COUGH*

"FINALLY! I AM RELEASED FROM MY PRISON! I SHALL KILL YOU ALL!!!!"

The poor officer. He too begins to blacken to the figure of the strange new black monster.

Both ominous figures turn to face the remaining crew.

[Darkstorm]

The crew pulls weapons on them, and the figures rush towards them. The battle is short and quite one-sided.
The captain is also turned, and the poor android's been broken.

[Darkstorm]

If you haven't guessed, the *ominous black figures* use a form of monstrous contagion. In this case, the overtaken mind has an intelligent d6 mind rather than a stupid d4. It is transmitted through a touch/grab (use: 2), and costs 3 cp instead of the normal 2 (any suggestions, as this has been play-tested in my army only a few times with my sole enemy ). They are also non-living constructs. I will explain no more for now.

Hopefully they'll all turn into disgusting prawns like in District 9.

After taking the ship, red flags are raised everywhere throughout the S.S.A., prompting a pair of Dragonfly-class Interceptors to find and either retake or destroy the ship.

"Transport yourself into the pilot's seat and attack him!" the leading dark figure commands two of his subordinates.



After being turned, the pilots enter formation with the Hyperion.

[Darkstorm]

Within a few hours, a transmission is sent to the Hyperion.
"Send the transmission to this console," the lead figure commands.
"This is Archsentinel Hasdiel. I order you to stand down and surrender all stolen vessels to the authority of the Syndicate Star Alliance immediately!"

"NO."
Your noncompliance will be disastrous for you. Please reconsider."
"NEVER! I AM DARKSTORM!!!"

-end transmission-

[motorhead fan]

Hey, this is pretty cool! any chance you could make the pictures a little bigger though?

After some time passes, and the Hyperion has conquered more and more ships and figures, the small fleet arrives at Nexus 001, where the central government of the S.S.A. is stationed. As the station's defenses kick in, Darkstorm beams all of his warriors along with him onto the station. The Hyperion is quickly destroyed, along with the remaining ships. The station's internal sensors detect the beam-in, but can't find any lifesigns. A defense squad is dispatched.

A few ninjas and Darkstorm engage the defense squad.

As the ninjas rush forward, Darkstorm feels a power well up inside of him, one that he hasn't felt in a long time...




The ninjas make short work of their targets - the blue ninja strikes, but the black beam hits his target first. The rest of the battle happens almost in the blink of an eye.





The fallen bodies of the troopers slowly rise to meet the ranks of the Shadows.

Yeah, I need to figure out how to enlarge the pics- they are already grainy enough, I'm using an iPad camera for picture-taking (not the best idea but it works). I'll see what I can do. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Personally, I use Imgur, it is pretty simple, and seems free(At least it was when I joined several years ago.)

Nice soap, reminds me of Alien and Prometheus. Regarding grainy photos, is your flash on? That makes a huge difference for me and my phone.
