Dr. Rose: Yes, same result as before. We can tell there's micro charges still there, but they've decayed so much that some of them are too close to zero to interpret properly. We simply need something more sensitive that can map these charges to their corresponding addresses, that way we could see everything the computer was doing the second the robot got shorted by the power system failure.




Dr. Bradley: Forgive me doctor, I understand the situation, but I don't understand how I can be of assistance here.
Dr. Boggs: You're the Secretary of Technology. With this instrument we'll never be able to read the memory. This is a matter of national security, so clearly this whole operation is classified. However, there is a specialist I know who can help us read the data. But I need your permission to allow them to assist us because they're not an Assyrian national.



Dr. Bradley: You're sure this person would be able to help?
Dr. Biggs: Absolutely.
Dr. Bradley: Okay, I'll sign off on it.

[Natalya]

Dr. Biggs: Okay, you can let her in.




Mitoko Mikasa: So, what can I do to help?

[Natalya]

Dr. Rose: Thanks for coming miss Mikasa. We were hoping you could use your abilities to boost the residual charges in the RAM of this droid to a level where our equipment can accurately detect them.
Mitoko: Yeah, sure, I think I can do that.



Dr. Rose: All right, the scanner is live. You're okay to go ahead.
Mitoko: Okay, let me focus for a second...




Mitoko: I can feel the charges, but they're pretty faint. I'm going to try boosting their strength now.




Dr. Rose: Okay, the signals are more clear now, we can actually start to read the data!

[Natalya]

Dr. Rose: It worked out, I have it copying the data to the computer now.
Mikasa: Awesome!
Dr. Biggs: Excellent work you two.



Dr. Bradley: Thank you for your help in this matter miss Mikasa, the data you recovered will help us keep our people safe.
Mikasa: Any time Secretary Bradley, I'm just glad I was able to help.




Dr. Biggs: We're going to get them for sure.
Dr. Bradley: Just pass the data on to the investigators once you've recovered all of it. I'm relieved that I can finally get back to my real job instead of dealing with this.
Dr. Biggs: Absolutely.




Mikasa: I'm glad I could help back there, but something feels wrong. That was an assassin droid, I wonder what it could have been doing. I'm worried someone probably got killed by it.

The next day -- Assyrian Palace Complex



Detective Kronvalds: So, Dr. Biggs, what exactly is that thing you're holding?




Dr. Biggs: This device detects EM waveforms of all kinds. I'm trying to figure out how communication was established between the attackers and the droids.
Dr. Biggs: We were able to establish from the recovered RAM data that the droids were being controlled remotely via their network cards, in real-time, instead of from a virus or other program downloaded onto them.




Dr. Biggs: However, as I expected, the substantial and sophisticated EM shielding in this part of the complex is preventing any outside transmissions. You may not know this, but this area of the building is actually a massive Farrady cage. The only wireless communications happening in here are point-to-point communications from devices inside the cage, such as your phones or radios. Communications to the outside are all done with physical wires. I don't understand how they could have broadcast a signal into this room, or any other part of this section of the palace.

[Natalya]

Det. Kronvalds: So, you're telling me, that somehow they can communicate through this cage you mentioned?
Dr. Biggs: Well, the transmission was relayed somehow. But I don't know what method was used, other than it was from a common wireless signal.




Det. Larsen: Wait, you mentioned that stuff from the outside does come in here, it's just through physical wires and cables. Does that mean there's some kind of secure network in place in this area?
Dr. Biggs: Yes, there's our PalaceNet transmitters. But those are encrypted.
Det. Larsen: But if they were compromised, would there be a way to use them to relay the message?




Dr. Rose: That's correct. But they'd have to hack through the firewall into one of the access points and use it broadcast within the room. A difficult task, but technically possible.

[Natalya]

Dr. Rose: If the attackers knew the address of one of the access points in this room that might make it easier for them to choose it to be hacked.




Dr. Rose: In fact, I think there's one right here.










Dr. Rose: I think we just found the attack vector.
