The dirty secret Chapter 1

[Cracjaw]

Outside the house of Herfin Lesler, a massive crowd is pushing to get past the police barricades.



The Police inspector walks to the crime scene, he is trailed by his officers.

Inspector - "So, what do we have here?"

Officer 1 - "Early reports are saying it looks like a assassination, though we're not entirely sure, could have been a robbery gone bad."



The Inspector leans over the dead Speaker of the Tertirary house

Inspector - "Looks like he was clobbered."



Inspector - "What clues did you find? Fingerprints? Anything?"



Officer 1 - "Well, we only found a half eaten banana, and a full apple in his outside fridge, no fingerprints, no DNA, no nothing."



Inspector - "Alright, where are those detectives I asked for?"



Two detectives, James Rodin and Duley Mound, walk forward, escorted by two cops.



Inspector - "Are you two the detectives I asked for?"

James Rodin - "Yes sir, I do believe we are, unless, you wanted two other handsome guys."

Inspector - "Alright then, I need you two to give me an idea of what could have happened, anything that looks off, maybe any more blood splatters, anything will be helpful."



Duley Mound - "But first, can I ask you a question?"

Inspector - "I do believe you just did."

Duley Mound - "Yeah, I can't work on any empty stomach, is anyone going to eat that apple?"

Inspector - "Uhhh, no."



James Rodin leans over the body, trying to see what the others could not



James Rodin - "Ah hah!! I found something!!

Inspector - "Already?"

James Rodin - "Nevermind, it's blank, it's been completely erased."



James Rodin - "Wait!! What's that??"



Inspector - "That looks like a computer."



James Rodin - "Duley my friend, have it."

Duley Mound - "Dang it, that apple's so sticky, my fingers are sticking to the keys."

James Rodin - "That's disgusting."

Inspector - "What's on it?"

Duley Mound - "Nothing, it has been completely erased, whoever did this was after something, and it looks like they found it."



Inspector - "And it looks like our poor speaker got in the way of that, okay, I want you two over at my place for a briefing in three hours."



James Rodin - "You have problems."

PART TWO



The two young detectives walk out of the crime scene

Duley Mound - "Hey James, wanna hit that Jomba Juice stand I saw on the way over?"

James Rodin - "Din't you just eat a dead man's apple and banana?"

Duley mound - "Yeah, James, a man needs his nutrition, and besides, not like he was gonna need it



James stops as he notices something, he points to the top of the building

James Rodin - "How did the cops not see that?"



Duley Mound - "Wow, our police force sucks."



The detectives stop a nearby cop

James Rodin - "Hey buddy, is there anyway we can get a look of the tapes from that camera?"



Cop - "Yeah, it's all digital and sent to our phones, here you go."

James Rodin - "Wow, we got us some high tek juju magumbo goin' on here."



James scrolls through the footage until he finds something



James Rodin - "Hey, this is dated 15 minutes before the senator died, I wonder if it's connected."

Duley Mound - "Umm, James, I definitely think they're related."

James Rodin - "I've heard it both ways."

MEANWHILE BACK AT THE POLICE STATION



James Rodin - "Chief!! Chief!!"



Inspector - "What do you want, what is this?"

James Rodin - "We found some footage from some cameras that we think may be connected to the murder."



Inspector - "Okay, thanks, I'll check it out."

A couple of minutes later (More precisely, seven minutes and forty eight seconds)



Inspector - "Okay, let's see what we can find."

The Inspector finds his database of all people that have ever entered PLA space (Handy, right?)



He is instead greeted by an empty search, even after he plugged in the photos



His phone begins ringing



Inspector - "Yeah, who is this?"



Alan - "This is Alan, the Prime Minister of the people."

Inspector - "Uh, hello sir, why do you call?"



Alan, the Prime Minister of the People - "I'm calling because we just registered an unauthorized search on two PLA soldiers, do you know anything about this?"



Inspector - "Uh, yes sir, we just recently got a break in the dead senator case, I was searching for a match of two perps we saw entering his house."



Alan, the Prime Minister of the People (Both Male and Female) - "I want you to shut this investigation down right now."

Inspector - "Why sir? It is about a senator."

Alan, Prime Minister of the People (Both Male and Female) Hero to all - "It is a matter of national security, this will be shut down immediately, pay any of your consults or whatever you have to do, just shut it down."



Inspector - "Umm, yessir."

Four days later...



James Rodin - "I can't believe the chief just, fired us like that. We helped him with so much!!

Duley Mound - "Um, James, I don't think we were fired, they called off the investigation."



James Rodin - "I just wonder why, I know I could've done some real damage."

Duley Mound - "Maybe that's, mm, the probwem."

James Rodin - "Duley, are you, are you...eating?"



Duley Mound - "Mmm, yeah, and it's dewicious."

James Rodin - "Ugh."



James Rodin - "Ssssllllluuuurrrrppppp....I'm bored."



Duley Mound - "Mm, yeah, me too, this is good."



James Rodin - "Watcha wanna do?"



Duley Mound - "I'm doing it."

James Rodin - "You are unbelievable."

Both guys look up as they hear another minifigure approaching them



James Rodin - "Who are you?

The dude - "I am the lead detective at the police department."

Duley Mound - "Then why are you here?"



The Head Detective guy - "I need your help."

Duley Mound - "What do you need our help with?"

Head detecitve guy - "I can't say, meet me at the dock at midnight tonight."

Later, at midnight, at the docks...



The Head Detective looks out over the massive expanse that is the Carpet Sea

James Rodin - "Why is it so dark out here?"

Duley Mound - "James, it's midnight."



The two detectives walk over to the head Detective

James Rodin - "Hey, do you mind if I called you Bessie?"

The Head Detective does not respond

James Rodin - "That's cool."



Duley Mound - "So, mmm, what are we here for?"



Bessie - "I want to hire you for a job."

James Rodin - "Oooh, I like money, how much we talking? Hundreds? or thousands?

Duley Mound - "What my partner here is asking, is what does this job involve?"



Besse - "You know that job that you were recently fired from? I want you to continue investigating."



James Rodin - "You mean, you want us to go behind the police's backs, and keep investigating?"

Bessie - "Um, yes, that's what I said."



Duley Mound - "You got yourself a couple of detectives."

James Rodin - "Where do we start?"

Bessie - "Come to the station tomorrow, and I can slip you some evidence I found in the guy's house."

Duley burps and throws away his midnight snack, a small grin appears on both men's faces.
