you know, as much fun as it seems in theory to have super weapons, i know from experience that they tend to get boring after a while.

that's not what i mean. i mean that there's no more FUN when there's no chance of ever losing anymore. like for those of you who played Half-life 2, the game got INCREDIBLY dull once the gravity gun was upgraded to be the ultimate tool of death and destruction.Olothontor wrote:I've only had this one for a week, so I'm not bored yet. And besides, everything I have gets scrapped to make something cooler eventually.
in this same vein, battles stop being about the brave minifig souls who are fighting, and more about who's got bigger, better bombs. this is also why the boardgame "battleship" would be really boring if they ever released the "thermonuclear war" edition.
"a-5!"
"hit. you sunk my whole fleet. play again?"

Depends on if you want to shoot at my MK V Manticore or my MK VI Archangel Hellfire Laser OR the "Slugger" (originally built for BrikSpace, it has somewhere near 20 different guns. All but two of those are forward mounted, however, and it's insanely expensive in Brikwars terms because it's flying).
That means it's gonna be six turns before you destroy all of the possible threats to your precious Shadowcaster.

Ours take turns to prep because otherwise the minifig using it would need somewhere around a 60 (for mine) on a d6. It's only slightly likely that you could make that if you took that roll and multiplied it by ten. So, we prep, and then it takes no skill to fire. You need to make a zero on a d6. That's a whole hell of a lot easier then rolling a sixty.
