Weekend
redcapscorner wrote:So, here's where things stand with Philadelphia and Brik Wars:

1) We're running casual Brik Wars nights ever Monday at 6PM. Last week's was a lot of fun, and I'm excited about the upcoming one!

2) We're running tournaments sporadically, on Saturdays, with the first one set for April 30th, the next set for May 21st, and the next after that for July 2nd.

3) We're planning to do the big gathering, and we've set that for the weekend of August 20th. We have a big Magic tournament every Friday, so whereas there'll be some play space on Friday the 19th, there won't be enough for too much more than Magic. We also run a small Heroclix tournament every Saturday, which won't get in the way too much, and Saturday the 20th will be almost exclusively Brik Wars, with most of the tables dedicated to it. And then every Sunday we run a small Magic booster draft. It takes up a little more space than Heroclix, but not much more, so if people want to continue the Brik Warring into Sunday, that's completely feasible. Those three events still need to happen because we have regular support from those customer bases, but all day Saturday and all day Sunday most of the space will go to Brik Wars that weekend!

Now, we need to come up with a name for this gathering and figure out exactly what people expect out of it!

If anyone wants to come to any of these events, the store's address is 4040 Locust St., and we're directly on the University of Pennsylvania's campus, just west of the Schuylkill!

Hey guys! After feedback from our Monday Brik Wars in March, we've decided to move Brik Wars to Saturday afternoons in April. So, no more Mondays! Saturday afternoons at noon from here on out!

Super-bump
Since we're getting closer to August 20th, we should figure out what scenarios we will be running(objectives, terrain needed, is it just gonna be a giant shootout?, will there be a space battle?) and what we'll need for the scenarios/shootout.

I think the best thing for you guys to to is to add as much humor to the battle as possible to keep things fun on the long run since I expect that some of these battles will take hours.
And please take many pictures because even though a lot of us couldn't come we still don't wnat to mis out.

Yeah, but i have a big airsoft game soon in august, but it should be fine. If for some reason it goes in the same date, (because i don't know exactly when this game is) then i have no idea.
Holy shit, I'm still here?

I haven't been to the store all summer so I don't know how accurate this information will be. If you want to get a handle on how much terrain is available for play, look up one of my philly battle reports. Basically there were enough baseplates for a max 4-player game at 200-300 cp. So the biggest thing necessary is for those coming to bring baseplates (label yours) and perhaps even create some preset terrain buildings for your plates. There was a healthy mix of sci-fi, modern, and fantasy legos among people who played; I'll personally be bringing both my sci-fi and medieval factions, so I imagine both can be accommodated.

So that would be my recommendation: bring scenery. Redcaps Corner has model wargaming as well, so I imagine in a bind we could borrow some WHFB and WH40k terrain.

There are enough tables to play I'd say 10+ separate games of brikwars. But that's a blind estimate.

Aw damnit............ The Airsoft game doesn't overlap..... much. Its on the 13th, and i can guarantee that my parents are NOT down with driving back and forth out of the state twice in the same two weeks. One or the other, and i don't know what to do. I mean, i already made plans to fly my friend up here for this game, and hes actually majorly interested in that game, unlike this. I'm so sorry guys, i would absolutely love to go, but i cannot. maybe some other time? plus, it give me loadsetime to finish my projects.

I just wanna double check this is augest 20th this is on right?

Also, maybye it could be done in a tourney style if there are enough tables for 10 brikwars we could start out with smaller battles one on one and increase the size of battles as you went on.

Yeah, it's august 20th. You have a good idea about starting with lots of small battles but nobody should be able to get knocked out of the battles(no penalty for losing). Also, I think we should keep all infantry figs in squads so they don't take so long. Heroes and specialists like scouts would be exempt but most minifigs should either be stationary on a vehicle or in squads.
What about space, will we do a space battle for people with ships?

Im not saying that you would stop playing im saying that after losing an initial battle you go fight other people who lost to your hearts content then have larger battles for people who won

No, everyone should get a chance to play in the larger battles.
