weapon sizes
As you may have noticed, 1Vhossman stated some good stats for the Daleks, I don't understand half of it though,
how do you use a size 4 gun? What does it do?
Armor: 2d10 + Shielded: How does this work?

Size 4 gun.motorhead fan wrote:I read it, I didn't understand
Stats:
12 CP, Use 6, Range 18, Damage 4d6.
In game terms, a Dalek's main gun will be strong enough to threaten light armor (which I usually classify as anything with 2d10 or so armor), and can easily cripple lighter vehicles. However, because of the high use rating, hitting infantry target will be difficult, so you'll have to use the flamegun on the other arm to be able to engage infantry targets.
Armor: 2d10+shielded
you roll two 10 sided die every time you're attacked, and your opponent has to beat that role to cause damage. Shielded means that one die from each source of damage will automatically be removed. If your dalek takes fire from a size 2 cannon and a rifle, which would normally inflict 2d6 and 1d6+1 damage, the shielding would reduce that to 1d6 and 1 damage. This means that your opponents will have to make lots of combined fire attacks to be able to kill a dalek, since most weapons that will have any chance of hitting it will lose a lot of their damage to the shielding.
Any other questions?

Re: weapon sizes
I also listed them as size 2, meaning that their armor would have to be overcome twice before being destroyed. This was to compensate for that huge size 4 gun you wanted so desperately to include on your dalek design. If you're okay with size 1 Daleks, you can drop to a size 2 main gun, which only does 2d6 damage but has a much more managable use rating of only 4.

Re: weapon sizes
Many thanks to both of you
I think i will just use size one Daleks, then they can actually fight infantry with both hands.

Re: weapon sizes
Again, it's not like they CAN'T fight infantry with a flamer, it's just that the main gun would be a little hard to use. With 1d8 skill it's not even unreasonable.
