Spaceship crashing into minifigs
For some reason one of my friends fielded a size 11 spaceship in a battle. After I had almost completely shot it to pieces he wanted the ship to crash into my large (16 minifig) squad, claiming that because it was such a big ship all the minifigs should perish underneath it. I stated that as the ship is only 5" off the ground, it causes 1 MOM of crash damage to the squad, which would hardly hurt the squad at all. Both solutions seem very unsatisfactory so a What I Say Goes roll also feels wrong. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to handle this?

Re: Spaceship crashing into minifigs
Working together, it only takes eleven minifigs to catch and carry a crowdsurfing size 11" spaceship, so this isn't an autokill situation by any means.

What's really happening here is a collision between a large object and a squad. A lot depends on how many minifigs are under the ship when it comes crashing down. You'll measure the size of the group of minifigs struck (not the entire squad; this is location specific damage: https://brikwars.com/rules/2020/sq.htm#locationdamage ) to determine the physical opposition, and compare the number of non-disrupted minifigs struck to the ship's remaining effective size to determine the trample damage, if any.

Because of the ship's damaged size and low momentum, there most likely won't be any knockback, smash damage, or trample damage to speak of. Your squad will take a single MOM of crash damage. The real inconvenience will be starting the next turn stuck under a crashed ship. They'll need to free up some hands to lift it and move it off of themselves, or in a more brikwars fashion, combine fire at it from underneath to blow it apart into more manageable chunks.

Just trying to do good role modeling of pulling plausible sounding bullshit out of my butt whenever a rules clarification is called for. I actually wrote out three completely different answers to this question and just picked the one I liked best
(And then an hour later changed my mind and picked a different one instead)
