Yeah, you missed the best bits. However, Stubby likes to show off the new rules on Chat, just to get a preview of what people think. That's were I downloaded my copy from. You should lurk and see if he's in a benevolent mood.

Well, I managed to get myself a copy, and I can only say :<3:

Anyway, get it done! We only have a few weeks until 2011!

Less than 2 weeks Rayhawk. You better release it.

Don't worry; if the last page is crap you can just do a bunch of minor revisions later and no one will know.

Maybe BrikWars 2010 will be Rayhawk's Manly Santa Day present to all of us.

I'm expecting 2010 rules to be realised in either 2011 or 2012. But if their not called the 2010 rules I will not be happy.

Hey Stub you changes the order of the chapters in the bar at the top of the page, nice to see you are paying attention to the little things.

PS:Are there any changes in chapter H between 2005 and 2010, I want to know if I should read it all over again.

Will there be a print suitable PDF? And can there be a list of all the changes to the game so I can focus on the new rules.

Normally I'd just check the last-modified date on the source file, but since I changed the navigation bars on all the pages they were all modified a week ago.

Chapter H got minor clarifications, but nothing big. An added bit here or there about Shoving with a Horse, and Horses and Riders sharing Counters in Close Combat.

Nope. It's enough work just getting the new ones out, without having to go through and compare them to the old ones line by line.

Something I forgot to add earlier, take a peek at the "Overskill" rules in 4.2. I'm not sure if they skew the wrong way for units with lower Skill ratings though, since they'll tend to get Overskill dice more often than higher-Skill units.

Hmm... optional conversion of bonus skill dice to bonus damage dice... means that you'll actually be able to do something with those bonus dice, finally. Looks good to me.

After a read-through, it seems totally disadvantagious to use anything but a d6 (+modifiers) for the skill rolls of any unit if overskill is left as is. I don't know if it is game-skewing necessarily, but my d8 and d10's are now sad.

At the risk of complicating the concept, what about capping overskill dice? A fig with d6 skill can only ever add a max of 1 overskill dice to damage, a fig with d8 skill can add a max of 2 overskill, and so on (easy to keep track of since d8 = d6+1). This would keep low-skill figs from having a distinct advantage.

Question: if a squad leader w/ d8 skill overskills his attack, does that mean d8 damage is being added, or just another d6?

It's always d6, but how are you going to roll more than one of them when Skill is always a single die? You can't roll two 8's on 1d8.

My other option is to convert the +1d6 to a simple +1, but it seems like less fun.

I read the example

"join the the crowd of onlookers in merry laughter at at the spectacle."

Merry Laughter AT-AT, the most deadly and fun filled machine of destruction the Empire has.

-------
Its one of the problems with dice size being skill size.
Big dice, less chance of 1s and max size. So more important figs are actually more steady in their rolls, less extreme. But you already knew that.

6 on 1d6 = 16.6%
8 on 1d8 = 12.5%
10 on 1d10 = 10%

Alternate

9-10 on 1d10 = 20% very close to 16%
Maybe heroes have crit success on 9-10

7-8 on 1d8 is too much.

------------
Oh wait what?

I have no idea what ablogical is. It is a web site, but not a real word.
