BrikWars: realism?

I like realism in my BrikWars. Not some fancy desorganized chaotic sea of madness.

It is true. I prefer realistic BrikWars.

I make up rules on a whim. I don't care whose troop it is. I don't care about realism.

I care about FUN! :)

I care about dramatic dismemberment, inhumane disrespect for the dead, and whoever wins to win in an overly dramatic fashion. Boo yah! Rules don't get in my way.

Ditto. I like to take extra minutes decorating gory deaths with my bucket of blood pieces. Or, just dump the bucket.

Whatever. I still like realism.

Realism and chaos both have their place. My earliest battle was a great example of what happens when the Law of Fudge gets out of hand and is used on everything. We had grunt infantry moving as fast as jet fighters, and pistols which had the same destructive power as heavy gatling guns.

My first Brikwar with a living opponent was realistic all the way.

I kinda prefer a slightly more realistic approach, when it comes to units and weapons at any rate. Most weapons and units in my armies are fairly balanced. There's nothing much realistic about the battles themselves though, I like to leave tools such as pickaxes and shovels around the battlefield, so minifigs can use them as hand weapons. We also frequently fudge things for characters that we like, allowing a commando to dodge bullets, or giving the last survivor of a squad a stupendous feat or extra health.

I do have a keen interest in military tactics and orginization though. I've actually written out the tactical doctrine for the various branches of the Morfaire Armed forces, based on brikwars experience. I sometimes play mini solo battles against myself to test how effective a tactic is. These minibattles also serves as an excuse to throw a few dozen poorly armed troops against well fortified machinegun nests, thus producing mass carnage. :)

You need a backdrop of realism for the chaos to be funny when it happens.

Eh, I'm more of a person who finds organization fun. I find organization just more appealing.
