Armor rating

So i've been confused a while now, and I can't find anything that tells me specifically... If the armor rating is *d6 or 10 or what have you, do you roll for armor every turn? or just initially and then stick with that?

Ok. I've read the book cover to cover like 6 times and it's just not in there.

At this rate, you can probably expect the 2010 rulebook to be finished in about three years.
