I'm currently running a campaign with my friend and my faction uses more mechaniks than the average BrikWars faction, primarily to exploit the fact that he takes somewhat longer than needed for simple tasks. If I build a Field Construction like a vehicle, would I be able to keep it and use it as if it was a Looted unit?

Talk with your friend, and if they’re fine with it, then go ahead. If they aren’t, then I would propose modifying looted vehicles instead of creating new ones. It would be more time consuming, but that might work as a trade off.
