Orbital bombardment guns

I was thinking of doing a house rule for orbital bombardment guns for my new SHIP(yet to be revealed) because I don’t want to use actual explosives(too many briks to make).I was thinking like a normal gun, but it has an explosion when it hits equal to the size of the gun. All feedback is welcome!

I think you can use cannons, where the explosive ammo is implied and unlimited.

Depending on how you're setting up your battle, this is the kind of thing that I like to use Supernatural Dice for. One Minifig is the designated Spotter, and has, say, 3d10 and 3d6. Roll range out to your target as needed, use the rest of the dice for damage. The AoE will depend on how many d10s you used, but would be up to 6".
