LEGO Racers. A new use perhaps?
Alrighty, as I'm sure some (Or all) of you know, LEGO has a line of miniature cars, and some "playsets" to go along with them.
Me being the carnage loving freak that I am, was wondering what if you combined stuff like the Twisted Metal/Burnout games and Brikwars? Shouldn't be all that hard to modify the original cars to have weapons, and since they're already smaller than minifig scale, it'd be easier to build scenery.
What I've been rather curious about is what sort of modifications to the main Brikwars rules would be needed to do something like this, and what do you guys think of this idea?

By the gods, this has to be the best idea since the internet! I love it! As for the rules... all I can say is you'd have to increase the speed ratings a bit, without raising the cost. And you'd probably want to ignore rules about pilots, instead making the cars a sort of creature. Think of the pilot as part of the car, and not something separate. Use rolls... might have to be toned down a little. unless you give the cars the same stats as a minifig... hey, that might work!
Also, one word:
CRASHBREAKER

Very good idea! It has the makings of a great battle! Another thing to do is to give the differnt cars differnt stats,
like a heavy car would have more firepower, a light car would have more speed and lighter weapons, ect.....

"One can never have enough miniguns my friend."
I hope I get to say that Someday.....

i think NELUG did something like this. it was called like "nascarnage" or something like that. they had to race, blow each other up, and on top of all that, all the fans ran out into the track after the first lap, or something like that.

Plastik Armory: a bunch of weapons and abilities compatible with the 2010 rules.
For some reason this thread made me think of that sucktacular 80s cartoon with the guy who could morph into a car unless he was too cold.
Which is not to say that I think it's a bad idea, just that it reminded me of that. I think a battle race sort of thing would be really interesting (anyone remember MegaRace?)

Maybe it's just me but does anyone else think that these sets would fit into this concept quite nicely?

Clearly you haven't seen the latest movie trailer. These cars are equipped with all kind of sneaky weaponry, not visible at first, designed to take other drivers out of the race... permanently if necessary.
Sometimes lethal gadgetry trumps standard mundane firepower. This is a clear case of that.
Seriously, go watch the latest trailer, and then we can talk about whether the cars truly need guns. (Hint: they don't.)

And, second, those sets would work very nicely. Carda is correct in saying that the cars (if built correctly) would not need any guns. Which means I could finally make up rules for oil-slick type stuff! Always wanted to, but never had a need for it before...
