Idea for a live chat

As I was looking at the General Discussions forum, I had me an idea: would it be cool/possible/even necessary to have a live chat box, where people that were on the site could chill and chat? Kind of like what they have on Wiki sites? I know nothing about computer stuff, so is that even tenable? Would people even like such an addition? Is it just me?

There's a BrikWars chat on Discord, from what I hear it's mostly racism and arguing.

While I'm down for race-slamming and roasting comebacks as much as the next guy, I don't really want to bother with downloading Discord, tbh.

Is it even any good? I assumed it's for voice chat for multiplayer gaming on PC, right?

We had one way back in the beginning, but it just ended up being a couple of members using it to make everyone else put up with their race-slamming and roasting comebacks, so I got rid of it. I can't control what you guys do on the Discord or whatever other sites you go to, but over here that stuff just ends up drowning out conversation about anything else.

So if I got it right, that stuff was a huge issue back then before I signed up as well? I always thought this race bullshit was a problem that sparked out just recently.

Understood. Again, I like me some racism and burns, but if you want to participate in that, just go to literally any YouTube comments section. I wish we could keep only Lego-related and (semi)polite conversation on the chat, if we were to have it.

I think it's always been an issue ( in general ) but only recently has the media been giving it so much of the spotlight, you know?

I was mostly being facetious. Back then it was more general trash-talking, without so much of the specifically racist stuff. The internet's current racism fad didn't become the go-to troll bandwagon until a couple years ago.

The discord isn't bad it's just portrayed as being the greatest cesspit on the earth thanks to people dragging drama onto the forums
