Well, some things like legos, wargaming, and that kind of thing, have a large enough consumer base, that lowering prices wouldnt hurt them, and would probably get more people to buy the product because it's cheaper. Then again(not trying to off track this thread from it's intended purpose) Net neutrality proved greedy douches want money in any way possible. This is a topic id disscus, but not here.

Lego seems to be a product where the cost of manufacture and development don't entirely dictate the final price of the product, sort of like when Asus pointed out their ROG monitors pricing are driven entirely by what consumers will pay.

Lego is also in an interesting place when it comes to their market monopoly. I'd say they are only competing with the general toy market, while the construction toy market is dominated by them. I saw some K'Nex sets while Saturnalia shopping, and they looked dire. MegaBloks hasn't been on form since their dragons line years ago. And something like Meccano (which I doubt any of you Americans will be familiar with) fell by the wayside forever ago. Some competition, even if it is from AIDS-ridden chinese plastic, will be appreciated.

To try and get back some Saturnalia cheer to this thread, I got some craft-beer which I have been enjoying. However my 16 year old brother got a goddamn brewing kit, and has been making booze all evening.

Gift a man an American style India pale ale, and he'll be jolly for an evening. Gift a man the materials to produce 50 litres of beer, and him and his closest friends will be still pissed come the morning.

What type of craft beer did you get? Mine seem to all be from Belgium and MMMMMM Its sooo nice.

Have you been to a little Belgium brewery? I don't remember what state its in, but my family went to one a few years ago on our way to mall of America, and we spent a good few hours there. I even thought it was interesting, and I don't/can't drink. I've had beer bread though. Ruined any chance of my wanting to drink, but I do drink rootbeer.

I did play Divinity 2 all day while cooking home made spaghetti sauce with sweet Italian sausage in it for 9 hours.

In the 80s you paid 40 to 60 USD for a computer game.
Its the same today because more people are buying them, so the devs get enough money.
So Imagine me in the 80s making a lot less money 15k still paying 60, its like triple price, so imaging paying 150 today.

We had to walk up hill to the game store both ways.
Well actually for 6 years I lived in an apartment building that had a computer game store on the ground floor
I hung out at the store when I was between jobs.

There are literally dozens, maybe even hundreds of Breweries here, you might have to be a bit more precise.

After a night of drinking and some googling, it seems I was bamboozled. I'll nab myself some brewdog next time I am out to make up for this. Or perhaps an Angry Orchard if I'm at a Wetherspoons, I just can't get enough of that.
