Saw it last night.

I think it was fairly well done, after all they're introducing new characters and all. Even though the books are technically disregarded, you could throw the movie right in with the books and there'd be only one conflicting factor*

*Han Solo dies instead of Chewbacca.

Oh, and that helicopter shot at the end. That was SO unnatural. It just didn't give of the feel of the encounter and made the end of the movie feel like some documentary.

Oh, and the stormtroopers actually hit stuff this time.

Except the taser staff fight, I mean, aren't lighstabers meant to cut through anything that isn't mandolarian steel?
Also the hyperspeed, its still meant to take several weeks to travel between systems, not the few hours in the movie.

It exceeded my (admittedly low) expectations. Didn't have as much nostalgia bait as I thought, unlike the 500 commercials preceding the movie

Loved it. As good as anything in the original trilogy. Had a few issues but I'm willing to forgive a lot at the movies in general.

I liked it all right. I am a Captain Phasma superfan now, best new Star Wars character by far.

Kylo Ren was disappointing though. I can see how they're setting him up to have a longer-term arc over three movies, but as far as the single-movie performance . . . pretty lame.

I thought it was funny how the movie could never have Poe Dameron and Han Solo at the same time, because of the law of conservation of wiseguys.

It's episode 4 again. I don't like it when people treat IP cautiously. Just go nuts. If it sucks, it just means people won't watch it, which is for the better anyways.

My feeling is that they're making it episode 4 again to give themselves a common starting point to then take it in whatever direction they need to. Maybe they wouldn't have had to take it back to fundamentals if there hadn't been the prequel trilogy, but because of all the Jar-Jar all over everything, Disney had to reassure and reconsolidate the fanbase before they could go anywhere new with it.

I know why they did it, and it's a completely reasonable thing for them to do. I just want to have my mind blown, and am not attached enough to the series to watch 6/10s.

I didn't like how Rey mind tricked the guard into letting her out, where would she have even learned how to do that? It felt like they just couldn't think of any other way to get her out, so they just said "whatever, she can do a mind trick. It'll be funny." I'm also sad that Han died.

1- In the first half Kylo Ren was so powerful that he can veen stop a blaster shot in the air but in the next half he was wounded by the lightsaber attack of Finn who has never used a lightsaber before
2- I didn't really like the Rey's way of lightsaber use. And again she beats Kylo Ren.
3- I think Kylo shouldn't take of his helmet before meeting his father.
4- Kylo-Han meeting could be done more emotionally striking and the death of han solo was not satisfying for me.
4- The scene where 5 planets were destroyed at once was not really convincing for me..

I liked it a lot. Everyone seems to be saying it's Ep. 4 all over again, and I get where they're coming from, but to me it felt more like a remix or mashup of 4. Everything involving the new characters was great. And for the first time in seemingly forever, we actually get to see new shit done with The Force, returning the feeling of it being a mystical power rather than just button combos.

I am a Captain Phasma superfan now, best new Star Wars character by far.

She showed up for like ten minutes total, did nothing for the first five, then essentially had no qualms about disabling the shields on the biggest superweapon of her glorious Order to which she is completely loyal, on the whim of a traitor and his band of rebels. For now she's firmly in palette-swapped stormtrooper territory, but she's coming back in the next movies, where I'm eager to see her get some real screentime and development.

I went in completely spoiler-free(no trailers) and with no real expectations. I was very satisfied with it--I'd be happy seeing it in theatre again.

I liked Kylo's powerful ineptitude. He's no Jedi or Sith, no matter how hard he tries to be. All in all, I was a big fan of all the new cast.

I was super, super looking forward to seeing Brienne of Tarth as a badass shiny evil space paladin. And with all the marketing push they put behind her for all the months leading up to the movie release, I knew they were going to do something amazing with her character.

But even after all of that, I was not prepared for that totally unexpected payoff.
