That would also count as interesting but it doesn't translate well to ascii text posts.

In this case though, I mostly mean "novel" at this point. We've talked this one to death, and all of the usual talking points and counterpoints have been covered to exhaustion. If there are more in-depth conversations to be had about the fine points of hair-splitting microintersectionality or whatever, there are way better places to be having those discussions.

Well, if it bothers you, I guess it's doing something right.

I believe it was Michael Jackson who said "Inspiration is 99% perspiration." The meaning is you just have to keep slogging through until you have a good idea.

I think Stubby's point is he doesn't think it's funny so he doesn't want to read it? Then just edit or delete the posts dude. You literally have the ability to do so.

That's what I've done for the past bunch of years. But it's such a waste of my time.

Kind of like spam. I could go through and edit and delete all the spam posts one by one, sure. Or I can just ban spambots.

There are so many places on the internet you can go to be casually racist and gratuitously toxic, I don't know why you feel like you have to keep dragging this place down.

Man, who'd of thought that positing that the final solution to the (((Peach))) problem was total extermination of the (((peach))) race would attract a breed of people who found it funny not because it was mocking the ideas of National Socialist groups, but actually because they wanted to actually exterminate the (((peach))) race.

It's a bit like /pol/, everyone thinks they are mocking National Socialists, but they are not, they are actual National Socialists, only with danker meme's than back in Hitler's day.

Wait, the Peaches were supposed to represent Jews this whole time? Everybody seemed to be treating them more as a metaphor for Palestinians, but to each their own I guess.

Anyway, the point of Peaches has always been that they're the goodguys. Unfairly persecuted, underdogs, but they're the faction presented as the one to sympathize and identify with. The Peach stuff was never about exterminating the Peaches, it was about taking the part of the Peaches and resisting the bullies and exterminators.

Now if you want to talk about Dungans, on the other hand, they're all about extermination. But that's a whole different metaphor.

I guess the equivalent argument is if you said that since we're playing a game that jokes about letting minifigs set each other on fire, I shouldn't complain if you guys go outside and start dousing hobos in gasoline and lighting them up. But I feel like there must be some kind of fine, almost imperceptible distinction between playing a game about fictional characters being horrible people in a codified setting and actually just being a horrible person.

At the end of the day I've always thought it's healthy to have a certain amount of trolling and toxicity to counterbalance the usual internet forum nonsense of everybody taking themselves too seriously and getting too complacent in their status quo. Like back in the good old days when I'd stage those giant overblown arguments with Bragg - that was the kind of situation that totally benefited from Silverdream showing up and being a complete ass at both of us, or Tarren appearing out of nowhere and posting a bunch of dicks all over the place.

But over the past couple of years it's gotten way out of balance, and now the place is just toxic. Like RedRover pointed out, there's a bunch of conversations we just can't have anymore, and people who can't participate, because the toxic members just overwhelm everything else too fast.

So maybe we need to roll it back a little bit. The rule used to be that you were fully encouraged to be belligerent violent assholes to each others' factions and characters, but not to each other as people, and nobody was allowed to make themselves or other forum members the topic of a thread. I don't remember when I stopped enforcing that, but maybe I need to start that up again.

You must be the one who got my youtube account suspended. All the dominoes are falling into place.

Clearly we just need to bring Whiteeagle back to restore balance.

So is this an actual "Make Brikwars Great Again" speech? I'm excited. Personally I find humor that is either just great observations or self depreciating as great, but once your humor thrives off of tearing others apart it isn't really humor anymore... you're just an asshole.

I'm confused about the whole issue. Silva has always baited people and now people are saying it isn't funny anymore. Goons are acting like our name implies and everyone seems to be taking it very seriously. I don't even read half the stuff people post before me and I just make a general comment about something stupid silva said, usually. But if it's really bothering everyone I'll stop.

Oh shit.
I just invited a guy to this forum who said this earlier today.
And fuck off only means you care about someone's opinions a lot.

Tzan: "And this is why I think you should join the Brikwars forum, everyone really cares about each other."
My bad.

I entirely agree on all of that. Perhaps clean up exactly what is and isn't a bannable offence? When the list of automatic ban offenses is just an in-joke, it is no surprise if no one takes them seriously.

Totally serious and Out-of-Character for the moment Dilanski is talking about exactly how I manage my school both for employees and students. If no one is clear what the rules are or what is and isn't ok how can you expect them to follow the rules? If you joke too much about the punishment then it's natural people will treat it as a joke. So for example banning silva seems like a pretty funny joke to all of us and I dunno if you were being serious or not.
Being a manager (or an admin) is all about making yourself clear and showing your employees exactly what you want them to do. I had a Teaching Assistant ask me about making lesson materials and I wasn't clear in how I told her to do it so she ended up not doing it. Who is to blame in that situation? Me.

On the other hand I think this MAY be a troll effort by Mike because he always makes fun of people talking about nostalgia and how BW used to be good and now he's saying those exact words a lot so it may all be a clever ploy.
