Recently I hit an age commensurate with the meaning of life. For the past six months I have been working so have been saving too. In my job I meet a lot of the local bikers, including a bunch who call themselves the Medway Natives MCC.

So I start looking at their cruisers and bobbers, and start drooling. Then I buy myself some bits like a basic full face helmet and a new leather jacket (Elvis style biker). Then I did a CBT course to activate the provisional bike part of my full driving license (car). Then I went to a motorcycle shop and got me a brand new 16-plate (UK; a 2016 model) Keeway Superlight LE 125cc in that kinda matt off-black they did as a special edition.

The Day after it was delivered I did a training session with some friends from the Medway Natives MCC, kinda like re-doing my CBT as one half day is never enough. Been riding almost a month now with very few topples.

Anyway, I was at the Medway Natives MCC's annual bash last Saturday. The Broken Arrow 2016.

I won the Best Under 250cc Motorcycle trophy.



I did not even know my bike had been entered, but apparently, every bike there got entered in its category.

I also bought myself a decent helmet as those Box helmets are heavy clunky shit.

Anyway, that is what I have been doing all that time I have been away.

Nah mate. Being of a certain age, one prefers a cruiser for comfort and I don't think my riding is good enough for off-road yet.

Would I like to try it? Hell yeah.

My brother has been riding since the 80's.
He says if you can survive the first six months of regular riding, without killing yourself, you'll be ok.

I mean, I guess that *is* how you survive, but how do you live with yourself, really?

It is very beautiful. I hope someday you will pass it on to a teenager who will lovingly and tenderly wrap it around a telephone pole.

Honestly, speed is overrated on vehicles that could get destroyed by any other vehicle in traffic.

Really jealous. I would love to get a sweet bike but I don't know how to drive.

Well, yes, we're all going to die, which is why I'd like to be able to go places faster.

I've gone about 55 mph down mountains many times.
On a bicycle.

Believe it or not my 125cc can do 65mph quite comfortably in 4th gear without going into 5th. That's good enough to overtake most traffic on a dual carriageway.

Wow, britain is not very fast, or traffic is very heavy all the time.
