There's this film that came out some time ago, you may not have heard about it, it's called Suicide squad.

From the first time I saw the first advert(commercial for all non English forum members) I told myself: "That film is definitely going to be total utter garbage that isn't worth me watching it". several occasions arrised over the following span of time up till last saturday when I could have watched this film, I told myself: "Suicide squad? PFFFf! Why would I want to watch that?"

Last saturday, my parents rented it and put it on at tea time, I ate my tea, watched it and said to myself: "That was Great! Why didn't I Watch this sooner?".

The moral of this story is: if you don't know much about something, give it a chance, it could be awesome.

Share your stories of prejudice where you were wrong (also tell me the ones where you were right!).
Also, I seem to have continued my long lasting habit of liking films that lots of people hate, which is weird.

I actually had the opposite thing happen, I heard all the negativity about Suicide Squad and thought "hey, it can't be that bad, it's meant to be over the top explosions." Then I saw it and hated it because they shortchanged, uh, lets see... The Joker, Killer Croc, Katana, Slipknot... But to be fair I think that has a lot to do with the fact that they cut a lot of scenes related to those characters. Also, Jai Courtney was great, super funny.

On the other hand, I heard all the bad press about Batman vs Superman (sorry, Batman V Superman!) and expected it to be totally dull and boring. I loved it. I could see why some people would think it was boring, but to me the three hour run time (I saw the extended edition) just meant more time to flesh out the characters and the plot. Also, I actually love Lex Luthor in it, not true to character at all, but a really compelling villain in his own way.

Then again, I liked both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin so my taste in superhero films may not be the best.

I owned Civ 5 for like 5 years before I actually played it. because I thought it looked stupid until I actually tried it.

Suicide Squad sucked.

Conveniently, while today it's one of the all-time greats, it really was pretty stupid for the first five years. It takes Firaxis a long time to fix games after release.

Destiny. Game was panned rightly at launch, and I was sticking to my PC Master Race guns. Got a PS4 out of wanting to give 7th Gen a shot. Turns out 7th gen really is a pile of wank on top of a crusty turd, but Destiny is now a really good Pseudo-MMO Looter Shooter thanks to expansions and updates.

Thankfully Destiny 2 is coming to PC, so my PS4 can be pawned off for cash towards a fancy monitor or something.
