After putting their ugly logo on them, it now seems Photobucket is close to killing most of my pictures. We're talking dozens of battles here and potentially thousands of pictures. Is there any fast and effective way of transferring them?

Not that I've found. You used to be able to download whole galleries at once but the button "coincidentally" doesn't work anymore as far as I've seen.
Do you have backups of the photos anywhere?

Of the recent ones, yes, but the old ones I got rid of 'cos they were taking up too much space. I still have the same hard drive since then but I did a complete wipe of the system when everything but the hard drive and the casing were replaced.

Ok a situation I'm in -- over the past like 9 years or so I've had my own shitty website which I use to host photos of my shit. But now browsers are worried like "OH MY FUCKING GOD THERE IS NO SSL CERTIFICATE I'M NOT DISPLAYING THIS SHIT ANYMORE IT COULD BE HAX" and so people can't see crap I post on some other websites. Is there a way around that? Or do I have to now buy a fucking SSL subscription too?
