it's been like 4 or so years
are we gonna get it anytime soon
or does nothing ever happen and my best bet for a new version is just making some unholy homebrewed abomination

The physical rule book was printed and sold in 2023.
Mike has needed to adjust all the images, but he has finished doing that and there might be a new version of the printed book. Its sold by Modiphius.

I don't know if there will be any significant changes to the rules from now on.

Why would you not play with the current rules?
They're available online and always have been.

I like the current rules but I want even more varieties of things to commit pbb atrocities with accessible in the rulebook so I can easily use them even when playing outside of my little online group
