Washing Briks
Well, pretty much what the title says. Do you do it or not? What methods are best? Lets discuss.

Re: Washing Briks
It tends to be something I care about more when buying used bricks. I've bought a few tubs of late 90's lego that were in disgusting condition, which I immediately soaked in warm soapy water. But as for my own lego bricks that are in a grubby condition, I've tended just not to use those bricks, or clean on a part by part basis.

Re: Washing Briks
The only time I've done it is when a pen of mine suddenly exploded onto some of my bricks, covering them
in ink, I'll do it if I get really mucky bricks from bricklink, but otherwise, I don't see much point.

Re: Washing Briks
This summer I am going to actually sort my collection. I'll probably wash a ton of bricks then!
When I've washed before, I just used soap and warm water. Avoid putting decal bricks or electronic bricks obviously.
It may be best to sort and then wash.

Re: Washing Briks
True that you rarely need to do it, but I was sorting through my collection and noticed that some of the ones I've had since a was a kid (13+ years old) have gotten kind of greasy from such long term use. I probably should wash them eventually, but finding a space to air dry them without the kult stealing them will be tricky...

That, or stick them on a towel and carefully use a hair-dryer. Just keep that Klumsy Kurious Kult clear of the bricks.RedRover wrote:Throw them in a fine mesh bag in the dryer on very low heat!

Re: Washing Briks
discolor by dust has been my bane
I usually get a big bag thats used at a laundry or something and toss them in there and in the washer
although I never do it with printed parts. certainly not minifig stuff
