This just recently came in the mail.
Man, are Viking sets expensive! I paid $35 for this not including shipping! Ugh...

Yeah, I'm glad I snagged a lot of those vikings when they were still affordable. The sets are probably cheaper to simply buy the parts of separately.
I ordered the Blacksmith and the new Castle. Should arrive tomorrow and on Thursday. I'm a simple man, LEGO releases Castle, I buy it.

Yeah, unless you come across a guy who is selling his collection of lego which happens to include every viking set ever made for a very reasonable price. (Like I did last weekend.) Except almost all of the vikings were missing. But hey! I now own every Viking dragon/wolf/sea serpent Lego released!

Well the figs are cool but I wouldn't call them essential. The heads are the best part. Helmets are kinda cool but mostly kinda have a weird coloration, also not really vikings helms. The axe heads look cool but break easier than saddle clips. Torsos are hit and miss. Legs are just standard I believe. One of the vikings has sand blue arms though which is cool.

Yeah, viking heads are special. The actual viking helms look very similar to helmets worn by the Rohirrim from Lord of the Rings, and almost never had horns jutting out from the sides.

You guys would've seen the Series 20 viking's helmet, most likely:

It's probably expensive, though. I haven't found any substitute helmets that I really love; I usually end up giving my vikings hair instead.

Yeah not affordable. xD The good thing is, there were probably a lot of vikings who didn't wear helmets, or leather caps at most.

I have no space to put it but building the Galactica has been a childhood's dream so i had to get it not matter the consequences.
Cloan brands are really kicking Lego's butt in Germany.

Re: The official LOOT topic
This time is a golden opportunity for Lego clones. It has gotten so cheep to produce quality injection molding, and it helps that Lego has not been creating particularly amazing themes lately.

They had a PitchFest on that Lego World Builder site recently, which turned up some really cool ideas. I have no way to predict how likely any of them are to get picked, but I live in hope!

I am pretty sure at tis point Lego does not want to create a good castle theme just out of spite for it fans.
