Dibs on Pestilence.

And Warhead is already War.
All that's left is Famine (Shadowscythe is obviously Death).
:rtfm: Yes but the Four Biblical Horsemen include Conquest; Pestilence is (possibly) an understudy for Famine.
But Pestilence is also named as 'Hades' in the Greek translation, being the Grave, which is Death's domain.
And all the Horsemen preceding Death are all inferior to their successor, and are the cause of his entry: Conquest causes War, War causes Famine, Famine causes Pestilence, and all of the above cause Death.
So theoretically, the Horsemen don't mean much in themselves, it's more the process they symbolise. Or they could all be one and the same, just with different faces. :mystery:

Point I am making, is that Pestilence isn't a Horsemen. Rethink your selection?

Nope. I know it sounds weird, but when people say "Pestilence" they mean the guy on the white horse. There are a dozen different allegorical interpretations of the white rider, from Jesus incarnate to the Antichrist to UN peacekeeping forces, but Pestilence is the popular one for the last couple hundred years,"bending his bow in order to spread pestilence abroad. At his back swung the brass quiver filled with poisoned arrows, containing the germs of all diseases."

Maybe Pestilence grabbed the public imagination after the Mongols brought the Black Plague to conquer Europe? A conquering horse archer is pretty straight-up Mongoly.

The only horseman who's actually named in scripture is Death.

15,000 minifigs sounds more like a pestilence than a famine to me. Plus his bug army is pestilence itself. I'm afraid I'm going to have to veto your dibs and assign pestilence to Asterios instead.

Is Shadowscythe obviously Death? I know he has the scythe and all, but he never struck me as anybody who'd fit into an orderly horsemen-type dogma. More like something out of the unseelie courts, boozing it up with pagan ellylldans and cyhraeths.

the rider on the white horse may be considered Conquest : "Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer."

the rider on the red horse could symbolize War: "When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come.” And another, a red horse, went out; and to him who sat on it, it was granted to take peace from the earth, and that men would slay one another; and a great sword was given to him."

the rider on the black horse could be famine (alluded to by the high prices of food): "When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”"

the rider on the Pale Horse is Death: "When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth."

now the interesting thing is the last part is where people get the idea of the names of the four horsemen, but nothing said it was for the four riders, it could have been for Death and Hades (Strong Greek influence).

Sure. The unseelie are a court, and everyone from top to bottom is jesting constantly. The quirk is that their jests kill millions.
Asterios wrote:the rider on the white horse may be considered Conquest :
By some. But "Conquest" isn't super inspiring as a character or a concept. It's easy to see why Pestilence is the way more popular interpretation, even if it doesn't make as much sense in light of the actual text. When you've already got one of the other horsemen covering War, Conquest is just the boring yawnfest filling-out-paperwork part that happens after War got to do all the interesting bits.

yeah that's the thing you would think he would War, since Conquest is the outcome of war.

Everybody also remember that BrikWars has its own Four Horsemen, and a different attitude towards the regular Human-world ones.

The Four Horsemen of the Brikpocalypse

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

For he who controls the Spice controls the universe.
