Mkah. I really like the outline you have so far, but that's just what it is, an outline, a frame. If this is post-apoc, there has to be debris, cracks, and broken walls with rebarb wire. I should hope that the survivors are on the third and fourth floor with the stairs blown out. So the nex tthing is you have to decide what the building was, offices? Library? The scenery should reflect it.

Other suggestions:
-Blownout glass windows (Trans clear stuff: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27327102@N ... 128847@N20)
-Chains (What's a good post-apoc base without chains?)
-Suports (In reality, most buildings require a solid central support)
-Broken walls (Walls with cracks made using slopes and inverted slopes and such)

Thanks for posting this WIP!

You are right but post apoc people aren't careful either. Also if they couldn't get the oil they wouldn't let anyone get it.

Yes, but if a building is that broken-down and there are not a lot of people around (and those who are around are drifters), the gas will have been long gone. It would take several years for that situation to happen and for it to be stable that way.

All people would have to do is drive some tankers (like the broken down one), fill them up and drive away. That would most likely happen within the first week or two of the power being shut off. Their gas would run out, they would need more and realize gas stations have entire tanks underneath them waiting to be emptied. That's why the gas would be gone. This scene is most definitely after at least a few months of the apocalypse.
