I really love the Dwarves' Mine and the Castle Siege. Neither have any prefabs (except for the BURPs, and they don't count), and both have good, sturdy construction with lots of basic bricks. Lego, if you're reading this, awesome job!

The only poseability is in the arms, which can pick up a minifig but can't swing a club very well. Still, a troll's a troll.

I remember seeing this in a catalouge a few months ago. I was like, "FRICKING SWEET!" and I put into one of my "have to have" slots in my head, but then it just sort of dropped off the radar. I started wondering about it a few days ago, and here's a thread about it.

Don't forget the wrists. If you take off the hands, there's slots that fit TECHNIC pegs so with a little creativity you can create any zany weapon. Just imagine a troll that shoots missiles out of it's arms.

this set was available at target for like a week and then was gone for 2 months never to be seen so far. (I got one though)
also the beards on the dwarfs are wierd colours

This was the first big set that I blew money on. Mainly, I needed a large assortment of pieces... and I really, really wanted one of those trolls!

It took me a long time to put it all together, which was fun. And it really is a fantastic set with a lot of really ingenious things (the anvil, the warhammer, the kitchen, the helmet and armor rack).

This has been my favorite purchase so far, along with the tree-cutter from the Indy set. That thing is nasty, nasty, nasty!
