There is just one thing I wonder about. The way the wall is sloped makes it it look easy for invaders to just walk up it and lift themselves over to 2 block high part. What prevents them from doing that?

The defenders. The angle makes it three briks high AND easier for the defender to fire down on attackers the closer they get while ALSO making it vastly more difficult for grenades AND indirect artillery to get under the walls firing slit... Oh, the wall isn't complete. There is still another level to go on that will cover the top making it a vast continuous bunker, or that's the idea anyway.
One theory is that the walls are an old obsolete design that still uses slopping armour to increase it's thickness/effectiveness and is a left over structure in a new age world of mobile warfare. So less than ideal but useful in these circumstance.
Another theory is that if you make a fortification that appears too solid the enemy WILL reduce it before even attempting an assault. It is the first rule of siege warfare. However, if it APPEARS to be a weak structure in some way the enemy MAY be lured into a premature attack. No static defence has held out against a determined and superior attacker (fuck you Stalingrad), that is not the objective of fortifications. The objective is to buy time and to cost the enemy casualties for as long as possible while other areas of the battle develop.
