- I refuse to be stopped by something as irrelevant as logic, the laws of physics, or common sense -

if 20 chickens can fit in a brick, how many pingpongballs does a crocodile have to eat so it can swim faster than a washing machine?

Yup. When My sis and I were little, the FBI read most of the famous Roald Dahl books to us.

Also, just reading off that list, Lord of the Flies and The Alchemist were amazing books.

I've read every single one in the top ten, and a good number of the others.

I like books. :P

The list is quite biased on anglo-american literature. I have read about twenty from the hundred. Also some crap on the list, R.Pilcher somes to mind....

You have the internet, you can't use that as an excuse :P

Just keep a watch out for when others mention something that sounds cool and then go look it up. That's how I learned about the Order of the Stick cartoons, I think it was Ross and Greenkey et all talking about it here.

Yeah, that was back when Ahp was trying to get a game together on here based on their RPG.

Case in point, Warhead has pointed me out to some excellent sci-fi that I had no idea existed due to conversations here.

Fair enough. I usually hear about it, then don't end up looking it up. I blame this on my lack of motivation, which I blame on myself. :P

When my schoolwork dies down a little, I think I'll try getting a hold of some classic books, it's about time I do some more reading.

A book I would suggest to read is Scribbling the cult by Alexandra Fuller. I had to read it for school, and I thought it was really good.

@Warhead: Yeah I read TOOTS for a while, I stopped keeping up with it late last year. I found out about it via a 40k webcomic called Turn Signals on a Land Raider (which has actually stopped being made :( ). I also followed Ctrl+Alt+Del for a bit too, need to catch up with that.

I've heard of Turn Signals but haven't looked it up yet, it's now on my to do list.

If any of you young uns are looking for a good fun and fast read try Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat. I'm currently re-reading all mine and while I was doing so I came to the conclusion that most of you guys would probably like it.
